Marv is not Saying Correct Jersey No. for Created Player

Here's the example:
I've created a player with Jersey No. 25. In its initial team, Marv identifies him as No. 25. When I traded him to another team which has a player with No. 25 also, the number of my created player was automatically adjusted to 26 in-game, and Marv calls him No. 26 now.
So, in order to provide my created player the No. 25, I've edited the jersey no. of the other player from 25 to 27, and then i changed the jersey no. of my created player from 26 to 25.
At this point, everything should go well, no player has conflicts with any other player regarding the Jersey No. But when i played the game with my created player in it, Marv stil calls him No. 26. I've checked this in the players.dbf and I have confirmed that the jersey no. is entered correctly as 25.
What could be the possible problem here? Do I need to edit something other than what i've edited?
