How do you edit draft picks?

Ok. I know how to use DBF editor but the think I don't get is ...

when I edited a draft pick and drafted him he didn't have the stats that I gave him. WHY?? (I put the correct Ovrl as well)

So what went wrong??

I think you can change overalls only after you've drafted the player, because before the draft their ratings are either unknown if you didnt scout him and if you did he has letters instead of numbers.

Yes, you edit them after the season begins.
