How do plays on offense work?

Postby Ray AP19 on Fri Aug 11, 2006 12:56 am

I set up the playbooks for each team, but I can't really utilize them in a game because they don't line up right.

Like, for example, if a play needs this formation:

SG-------------------PF-------------------------C

------------PG------------------SF---------------

They'll never get into that proper setup, and thus, the play is useless. Is there a way to get them to line up like the way the play calls for?

What kind of play is that? If you want 2-3 zone than its like this

F--------C--------F
----G--------G----

Usually the Players set up like this, unless you're controlling a player on D and chasing the offensive player around, they will try and play man to man(the Defensive team).

That was just a non-existent, hypothetical example, and I meant offensive plays.

there is a specific spot the point guard has to be in order for the computer to know when you want to set up. it doesn't automatically do it once you set the play, because it needs something to trigger the players motion.

after selecting a play, press the off-ball (either that or prohop) button. there should be a colored circle that lights up. have your point guard go there. if there's an arrow pointing to it, you have to go to the circle and go in that direction. if theres a star at a spot, that's where you want the ball to go.

in rookie mode they do it on default. rest of modes you have to do it manually.

if you're calling for something like screen and roll, they won't have any thing special for that.

call for cavalier, shooter a, etc. if cavalier is set to the up arrow and pressing it gives you iso, just double tap.

i know you know most of this stuff, i just like to be specific. (Y)
