retiring players

tried searching the forums for this question but couldn't find it

just wondering if a player is retiring but still has 1 or more years left on his contract, does the player's remaining contract count against the team's salary cap?

no i shouldn't think so.

i thought a player only retires at the end of the contract. its just that if they are old they will only sign a 1 year contract. same with if you have a fantasy draft they get a 1 year contract I THINK.

Generally speaking aging players give an indication of when they might retire with their preferred contract length but they can retire before their deal is up. In real life it continues to count against the cap for however many years are left on the contract (unless a buyout is negotiated) but in NBA Live the contract comes off the books.
