Shooting 3's correctly help!

Postby shobe81 on Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:08 am

Have Live 06 on 360.

I have a hard time shooting 3's and making them for some reason a lot. People on live woop my butt by shooting 3's like no tommorow and busting them in my face 1 after the other.

My defense is really good but my 3 point shooting is bad.

Can someone give some tips on how exactly I should shoot 3's? I understand at the top of the jump but I'm not very good at them.

Please help!

Thanks in advance

Don't shoot contested threes, but if you do shoot contested threes, make sure that the player has a noticeable height advantage over the defender.

You can simply try and work on your timing in the individual practice game mode. Once you hit a few threes, you start to recognize the pattern.

There is a practice mode? Or do you mean the screen where your in a big gym which is under construction and you can play with players while the game is loading?

1. I dont know why my timing is so bad but could it have to do with rhythm? Like starting out good by dunking and making short jumpers, and then after your team is in rhythm start taking 3's?

2. Also how can you defend 1 man team where a player is going balastic on you specifically in multiplayer game? Like Kobe making 3 after 3 or dunking over and over again, because I play with the center and the guards dont jump or contest shots at times and when I select the guard, the player easily jukes or gets a screen for a wide open 3.

Thanks

well it doesnt have anything to do with the rhythm, so long as you dont keep taking 3s like mike james. goto game modes>individual practice and pick someone that you usually play with, and try shooting a couple of 3s as asdf suggested. once you get the hang of it play 1on1 games. once you think you are pretty good start playin the games on all star mode first, then on superstar

I don't think Live does it in that manner, but players do tend to miss a couple of shots in a row if they haven't been scoring any points. It shouldn't be too big of a factor though, it only goes on for a tiny stretch of the game.

If you think you've tried everything, you can always try and adjust the three point shooting slider.

Care to explain? If your saying a lot of them play cheap then yes but if your saying they downright suck, then I'm not so sure about that.

Yes, they mostly all play cheap. Leave Xbox Live alone.
