Deleted player in dbf

I accidently deleted a player from the dbf file on my roster but he is still in the game and i cannot get rid of him. does anyone know how to do this? He is not located in the players.dbf when i open it with dbcommander but if i open the players.dbf with notepad i can see his name and everything. Does anyone know if i can delete his name and stuff from the players.dbf opened with notepad safely without the game crashing?

Its not a real big deal because I have a back up, but i just created about 8 guys and would hate to redo them.

Maybe you could copy the dbf lines of the guys you want to keep and paste them into a new roster.

Put him on team 32 in the DBF file that should put him on the retired list.

Or put him on team 38 in the DBF file. That is the referees.
