Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

I'm a pretty good Live Player but my main weakness is Rebounding. I have a hard time beating the CPU to the boards and usually give up alot of offensive rebounds. My best rebounder usually only gets about 6 or 7.
I wanted to know if anyone had any tips or buttons to press or things to do to get more rebounds. becuz i'm starting a dynasty with the 90's Bulls and i want Dennis Rodman to get at least 12 rebounds or more each game.

what Defenses usually work best for many rebounds?

On topic.... perhaps you should take a look at your sliders. There's a slider discussion thread stickied in this section, check it out.

You just really have to work on your timing because even after you adjust the sliders it will still be somewhat difficult if you do not do it right. There isnt really a specific defense for good rebounding either.
I say start a game with 12 minute quarters and just make your opponents jack shots all day. When you get possession get the 5 second count to turn the ball over and keep repeating. After the game you should get a slight idea of the timing associated with rebounding. Dont worry about winning and losing. Its practice.

Work on your timing. I can usually rip off a few offensive rebounds with Okafor in my dynasty because of timing. On FT's press the button right after the ball hits the rim, biggest chance of getting a rebound. Try to box out and if the ball bounces off the rim weakly then u'll have an easy chance of getting a rebound even with ur PG.

[b]yeah basically its about timing, and you need a good rebounder guy,
like shawn marion he go 20 rebounds off of me in my dynasty, and
sometimes its because of the sliders offesive rebounds should go to 0
and defensive re should be at 100 and their should be no problem.

Wasn't aware I could box out. How do you do that?

timing is everything. boxing out is ok but i never use it. i can usually get 10 rebounds with wade on superstar 8 mins

I hate rebounding. My highest number of boards was like 12 in a 5 minute per quarter game using Yao. Offensive boards are so easy to get but I barely get any defensive. If I leave Yao in the post, the CPU makes the shot. If I take Yao outside the post, the CPU misses the shot and my other players get the defensive board. I consider it luck.

well there isnt exactly a box out button, but wut u do is when the player shoots u stand in front of the basket and hold the guard button(L1 on gamepad), as soon as the ball hits the rim go up fro the ball and get the rebound.

Ahh Rebounding. That kinda fucked up 06'.

whut button do u press to jump up for the rebound after u box out? I have XBox. someone tell me.
Sun Jun 25, 2006 11:30 am
Whichever button is assigned to Jump/Rebound. I don't have an Xbox so I couldn't tell you which one it is specifically but you can find out by checking out the manual or going into controller config.

Sorry to bother you again, but which button is the guard button? Do you mean holding the right analog stick down like you do when you want to go into a defensive stance? Thanks.

yes in live 06, holding down teh righ analog is a way to box out
except it can make u slower to jump

I don't have tons of trouble rebounding. . But when I lose a game, the rebounding is the difference. I use the Pacers and the Raptors, so Bosh and O'neil handle the boards, but it all depends how you play defence in the game

Aite i've solved the problem. here's what i do.........after u jump to contest the shot by pressing Y, hold for a little while until the ball misses then once it misses hit Y to go for the Rebound. i swear, 80% of the time it works.
here's how i've done in my Dynasty mode with Chicago so far. I've played 50 games so far.
my Small Foward is averaging 5.8 rebounds a game.
My Power Foward is averaging 12.9 rebounds a game.
My Center is averaging 10.4 Rebounds a game.
