Trade Help

Postby T-Wave on Wed Jun 21, 2006 4:43 pm

Hi all,

I am in the 2nd season of my dynasty, and after installing the real rookies draft patch, I didn't get the rookie I wanted in the draft(Saer Sene). He went to the bulls. Since then, I've been trying to get him to no avail. No matter what I throw at them, they just won't make a deal. Now, with the deadline approaching(3 days away), I had the idea to use the teams.dbf, to make chicago as the team I'm controlling, then accept the trade, and return to my team(Cavs). The problem is, after switching teams, when I go to the PDA, there is no trade offer. Then after simming 2 days, chicago rejects the trade(always).

I also decided to resort to other means, by opening players.dbf and switching Sene's team to mine(cavs) and switching one of my unwanted player's teams to bulls. But then, I didn't because when I thought of it, I saw possible difficulties.
- Every player on my dynasty team has 2 rows of information in the players.dbf, while the players on CPU teams have just one.
- There is also the salary cap. Since salaries won't match, would this cause an error, or would I have to re-calculate the team cap?

Another question... Where can I find trade offers in the .dbf? I couldn't find these, but I would expect that that info to be stored somewhere.

Long story short, any body have an idea on how to make them accept the trade? Sorry for the multiple questions. I really need your help on so many levels. Thanks.

Well I dont know about dbf editing but Im a master at makin trades. All you gotta do is tell me whos on your roster and whos on theirs and who you dont want to trade and Ill give you some tips but 3 days probably isnt enough time to get the deal done the if its a hard one.

That's exactly one of the problems. By the time I get the rejection from the bulls, it's 1 day before the deadline, and I have no time to do anything else. Unfortunately, I had saved already, so there seems to be no turning back. That's why I asked where I can find trade offers in the .dbf.

Thanks anyway, and I'll remember to consult your expertise on future trades :)
