There was a tutorial for Live 05 (it's in the 2005 Patching Issues), I think 06 is basically the same.

And I'm going to see them in Toronto!

The tutorial sucks. It barely covers editing... if you are looking for court answers on file associations, good luck.

Thank you.
If you think you can do better than me just do it and we'll see.

Well Joe, your court is for 2005 which doesnt cover some of the 2006 changes that every one is talking about but no one seems to know anything about. For me to say that it sucks was wrong and I shouldnt have said it. It doesnt suck. With that said,

The only thing I really learned from it was that EA Graph existed. Your title advertises editing an existing court and creating a new court. You talk about how to import the .png files, but you said nothing about the location.dbf editing or the team location ID found under the teams.dbf so that a new court could be used with a new team. You have nothing about creating dorna's or how to change the .fsh graphic diminsions.

If you are going to do a tutorial, then you need to assume that whoever follows your tutorial knows little to nothing about what you are 'teaching'. This is why its called a tutorial... beginners guide....etc..

I have a court right now that seems like its ready to go, but the game freezes whenever I try to play a home game. I should be able to look at your tutorial and troubleshoot, but I cant.

Some people on this board are great at helping the new people like myself, but some of those people dont have the answers regarding court and arena editing. Some other people are masters at making courts, jerseys, etc... but have no interest in helping others learn how to do it for themselves.

All I'm saying is that your tutorial isnt nearly as informative as it should be. Its very vague. Can I do better? Of course not. Why cant I do better? Because the tutorial I tried to learn from did nothing for me. And no one, either on here, or on nba-live.org forums seems to want to help ANYONE that has an editing court question. :|

The title of the topic says "How to change court's logos and colors" or something like that. In the tutorial I never said I'd explain how to create a brand new court for a new team.
With that tutorial I tried to help people change the colors and the logos for EXISTING teams in NBA Live 2005 and if you follow it you'll get the results (in Live 05 at least...I have not tried it in Live 06 and I never said it'd work with Live 06).

Other people point to your 05 tutorial for 06 as well, I know you made no mention of it. But we are in live 06 and getting ready to turn to live 07. Someone (if not you then someone) needs to do a tutorial for 06. (Y)

It is pretty the same, I learned it from Joes tut and I think what you said is kinda insulting.

I already apologized for saying it sucked, but nothing else I will take back. If you are insulted, then maybe you dont understand what a "tutorial is and should be". It is what it is. Its not an opinionated definition.

Hey Joe, you are 100% correct and did not make any claims to doing anything other than what you posted. I dont know where the heck I got that from...possibly another forum?? Obviously this topic of courts and editing needs a lot of help as there are posts all over with people asking for help, but not getting any. I think where the blunt of my frustration and the frustration of others comes from is that whenever someone has a court editing question, someone points them to your tutorial which doesnt address 90% of the questions. This is not your fault at all.

hova-, If you know how to change colors with the court in 2006, then contribute to the tutorial as others do when contributing and help Joe out. If you know anything that Joe might have left out, then contribute to the tutorial and help out please. (Y)
