Offseason Freestyle Superstars

i have nba live 06 on ps2 and in the offseason larry hughes lost both outside scorer and outside stopper despite increases in all of his ratings, this has also happened with lamar odom in another dynasty of mine, odom had gotten inside scorer during the season but lost it at the end of the season even though he either improved or didn't change any of his ratings

if anyone knows what's going on help would be very appreciated

From what I gather it's a bug (or just a bad idea by design).
