Left handed player shoot better 3s than right handed player?

Postby powerhoward85 on Fri Apr 28, 2006 12:15 pm

Has anyone noticed that in games left handed players always shoot better than right handed players?? Example toni kukoc, redd. Especially kukoc, no matter is live 2003 till now, eveery version i played he can shoot very well from above the arc.

Do you guys agree that left handed players shoot better 3s??

how about no! what a crazy theory. i can create right handed player with 99 fg and 3pt shooting. and by the way, i can hardly make 3's using kukoc. he doesn't have the touch anymore.

What a rubbish answer too. Obviously i wont be talking about stats here. Obviously i know a player with 99 3pt can shoot well from the arc. I'm talking about, no matter the rating is, they can shoot.

By the way, it is not that hard to make 3's using kukoc for me.

They shoot better from opposite sides of the court from my experience. Try shooting with a right hander the opposite side to the one you shoot with a left hander, it should work better.

Hello all!
I think there is no a real explanation for that theory... Look the 3 pointer All Star contest winners:
2006 - Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks (right-handed)
2005 - Quentin Richardson, New York Knicks (right-handed)
2004 - Voshon Lenard, Denver Nuggets (right-handed)
2003 - Peja Stojakovic, Sacramento Kings (right-handed)
2002 - Peja Stojakovic, Sacramento Kings (right-handed)
2001 - Ray Allen, Milwaukee Bucks (right-handed)
... and so on.
You can´t state that theory just ´cuz Kukoc is a nice shooter... I think Reggie Miller was far better than him... Anyways, there are amazing left-handed shooters like Mo Pete, for example.
Cheers!

Sports reporter Doug Smith, answering about Raps rumours:
Stojakovic: Staying in Indy by all accounts, any mid-season rumours were wishful thinking.
Lenard: You´re kidding, right?

Well, I think a left-hand shooter will shoot better if a right-hand shooter is guarding him because he'd be defending him with his off-hand, but this would work the same for a left-hand player defending a right-hand player. So, no, this theory doesn't sound valid. It all depends on the raitings (outside & jumping) the player has.

Then again, I could be either making no sense at all or could be completely wrong. ;)
