xbox 360 thread

Wed Apr 26, 2006 6:12 am

How many of you have xbox 360 with this game? If we have enough people, can we make this a regular nba live 360 thread? Because I've got a few questions about the game...

Wed Apr 26, 2006 4:52 pm

nup not me, i cant really see a new thread coming about either

The game is absolutely horrible. Combine live 2001 with live 2005 and you have live 06 for the 360 :(

The game is whatever. If you're a true nba live fan, then you can't be complaining. Just imagine it like it was nba live 2004 or 2005 but with waaaay sicker graphics, and updated rosters. Online play is freaking awesome! I say better than playing online on pc. Even tho you can patch live on pc, where's the fun on that when there's barely players on pc and get a laggy game? You can tell that they rushed that game because there's a lot of stuff that are missing. I think they rushed the game so they can release it along with the 360, but I am ALMOST positive that nba live 2007 will be the sickest basketball game especially on 360!!

Here are the stuff that are missing in the game:

1.) A lot of bench players from different team have "00" for their numbers.(steve francis is one of them.)

2.) They don't have the dynasty mode.

3.) Camera views are ok. The only thing I don't like about it is when you do fastbreak on pressbox view the camera moves a little kind of slow. So when you pass the ball through half court, you won't even see the player who's holding the ball for a second. Maybe in other camera views won't do that, but I find pressbox the best out of all.

4.) There's no FSSS( freestyle superstar). Like I said, its like playing 2004/2005 live.

5.) There's only the recent East and West all star teams, which means they don't have 50's,60's, etc. all star teams.

6.) Freethrows are a bitch. They don't have that thing where you aim for something. You just move the right analog down and move it up slowly. it just takes some time and practice for you to get use to it.

So far those are the only problems I've noticed on nba live 2006 on 360. I will update this when I see more problems. Other than that, the game ROCKS!!!

I am a big NBA Live fan but I must say that I am very disappointed with NBA Live 06 for the 360. Hopefully EA will step it up next year. I played the game for maybe 2 weeks and haven't touch it in about 4 or 5 months.

Wow. I had no idea they released such a bare-bones game. Was it just to make quick money or were they trying to be 'different'?

They already created a thread for this topic a few weeks back. But if you want to make Live 360 a better game you need to catch up on what Playmakers did with the game. He made massive changes to the ratings and created sliders. It's kinda like what he did for the original Live 06 for other systems. Apparently, he found away to make the game much better.

what do you mean catch up on what? Btw, I've already changed my sliders to make the game even more realistic.

I'm talking about his edits for player tendencies and cpu playbooks.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, its simply not true. A true live fan would not play this garbage, why should they? Its live 2005 gameplay with less game modes than live 2001 for the ps2 and decent graphics. Live 2006 for the ps2 or xbox is far superior.. It was the biggest waste of my time.

Whats your GT uptempo?

u need to drastically change the sliders and player attributes to even get a sense of decent gameplaying for this game.
its a broken and rushed dog of a game that only with expansive player edits and tweaking does it become moderatley playable.

the tendencies and AI is broken in this game. the cpu plays to quick and fast. only guards and sf's will get constant touches. the guards will just jack up 3 after 3 with no regard for ballmovement. bigs are just treestumps. plays are rarely run.
the only way u can get this game to play moderatley well is by drastically dropping the offawareness attribute of every pg/sg and sf to below 40.
drastically drop the 3pt attribute of pgs, sg, and sf 3pt attribute to below 70 and give the sliders a major adjustment. this way the bigs like duncan and kg etc will get a lookin and actually be involved in the offense.
otherwise this game plays nothing like a real nba basketball game.

Makes the game so much better. I rented it and downloaded his work and the game plays great. I'm definetly going to make a purchase for it now. If you were dissapointed with the game at it's default setup this will definetly be a huge improvement for you.

I did'nt realize anyone was playing the 360 version over here. But it takes many tweaks and edits to the players in order for it to play right. I think I've improved it overall. I've got the players to play more halfcourt, drive to rim more and pull up for mid range jumpers. The Fast breaks are toned down big time.

Overall, I'm just happy the "BIG's" are more apart of the game.

Hopefully, EA will get it right or close to right out of the box next year.

I just got the 360 version and down loaded your settings and sliders. I just wanted to say thanks because much like your Live 06 settings for my XBOX you have made the games great for me. I'm amazed as to how you figured all this stuff out. :applaud:

I've started playing this version almost exclusively now. The changes to game play by the ratings has put this game over the top for me. I played Phoenix and Amare came from the baseline after Barbosa missed a long three and he just raised up over my player (Elton Brand) and had a monster put back slam. The Crowd went into a frantic loud ovation after that slam.

Nash was driving and kicking the ball out all game and he threw marion a sick alley oop on the fast break. The game has lots of ball movement now and guy's are slashing to the rim more than ever. Tim Thomas came in the game for Marion and he immediatley started spotting up for baseline three's. Freakin Playmakers actually has Boris Diaw playing PG in this game and that totally blew my mind.

All I'm saying is down load this guy's rosters and settings fire this game up on an HDTV with some good speakers so you can hear the roaring of the crowds and this version of Live truly rocks now. I was enjoying my XBOX version to the fullest but in terms of atmosphere and graphics this game makes it's hard for me to go back to the XBOX version even though that is an outstanding game.

I'm seriously amazed at how Playmakers changes have improved this game. It is truly sim like. It really make those clowns at EA seem like they have no clue. It also exposes EA's lack of attention to detail as far as gameplay.

I really gave up on this game a month ago. Now I'm loving it more than ever. Maybe its just my excitement, but I'm seeing new things in this game everytime I fire it up.

Now I actually have hope for Live 07. Thanks Playmakers.

OMG

Have you tried his Legends Rosters yet?

He went and put about 50 old school players in the game like Dr J and Bill Walton. His latest release is even better than the 1st release and I thought that was pretty darn good.

You have to give these a try and use All-Star Level because some of these Legends guy's are insane on Super Star.

Here's the Link select the Legends roster.
