Game Crashes/Freezes Eveytime I Try to Launch a Game

I can get into the game fine. I can do everything expect for actually play a game. I've got a 2.78 GHz processor and 1.00 GB of RAM with a 128 MB DDR ATI Raedon 9700 Pro video card. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
