i can´t see the difference...

Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

i can´t see the difference...

Postby nuno on Thu Apr 06, 2006 2:42 am

Here is my problem!

I can execute perfectly (too perfectly sometimes...) the quick play´s that i call by double-taping the D-pad.

However... i can´t see the difference between plays selected in the stratey menu! They are always the same:

SG left side, SF right side, C and PF down low and my PG (me) trying to see the play but NOTHING happens...

In quick plays it´s so obvious but the strategy...

Anyone has this problem?

p.s. - i use playmakers plays.dbf, Superstar, 10min quarter, andrew´s sliders.

if i understood you correctly, in order to play the double-tapped move, you got to move to a certain spots on the court.
as soon as you moved to the spot, the play will start to roll, and you'll got some new options to score as far as the quick-play able to.
to find those "spots" you need to start the play by double-tap the d-pad (as regular) and than press the off-ball button.
then, a circle will show up on the court, and you'll just have to move to the center of it in order to start the play.
i added a picture to make myself more clear:
Image
(as you will(and can) see, some plays asks more than a movement to the circle, they're also want you to move in a certain directions, and some plays are also asking you to pass to certains player after you moved to the circle, those certain players will stand on a yellow star, you'll see what i'm talking about, i'm sure)
by the way, if you're playing on the net, once you tap the off-ball button and the circle is showing up, your opponent will also able to see this circle, so just try to learn the spots orally for a smoove good game.

Thank you for your great answer Jimmy2, but i think i didn´t explain myself clearly (im portuguese).

I´ll try again:

I understand the quick plays and i can execute them just like you said. The problem is the "non" quick plays. If you dont tap de d-pad twice, you dont call a quick play BUT your team as a strategy by default (ex.: Golden State plays the SONIC strategy in Playmakers Playbook).

It´s THIS strategies that i don´t see the cpu calling. If you don´t call a quick-play, the cpu controlled players will execute a play were i can´t understand what i have to do...

I´ve read the play charts available in the forum, but still i can´t see my teams do anything look like them... the formation always loos the same and it´s kind of "static", completely different from the quick play´s, were you can see the play happen!

Any help would be much apreciated.
Thanks

i just said, most of the time it's just mean to pass to your starr player (scorer SG for example), but there is also some plays that you got to stand on the spot and the star player will move without passing him (options for example).

R3 triggers Off-Ball, except in one-on-one, All-Star Weekend and Practice where it serves as the self alley-oop button.

I can´t explain myself the way i was supposed to... damn portuguese language! :(

I understood the quick-plays... it´s the strategy when i DON´T call quick-plays that i don´t understand...

you can change it also in the playbook, if you want your team straight as the attack starting will play 'balance' you can do it.

Yes! It´s THAT strategy that im talking about and i know i can change it BUT i "can´t see the diference" (that´s why it´s the name of my post) between them!

See, no matter what strategy i select (Sonic, Playmaker, Balance, Single Double, etc...) the players always do the same thing!

PG has the ball (me), SG on the left wing, SF on the right wing, C and PF down low... and they don´t move in a way i can understand the play!!!

Another thing... you can´t activate the circle spot on the court for this strategy´s like in the quick-plays, so i dont even know how to start the plays, because if i do exactly as i read in the "Playmakers Play Charts" thread, but nothing will happen, BUT in the quick plays it happens and it´s so easy to see...

Didn't want to start a new thread but still wanted to ask if it's possible to change the defalt quick plays(Sonic, Playmaker, Balance, Single Double etc...) so I wouldn't have to change them to my liking before every game(in Dynasty mode)?
Thanks.
Mihkel
