Michael Redd for Ray Allen?

Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:13 pm

I just started a fantasy draft, and my current team is:

C - Eddie Griffin
PF - Al Jefferson
SF - Boris Diaw
SG - Michael Redd
PG - Chauncey Billups

playing as T-Wolves.

I was 29th place in the draft pick

Anyhow, i have a chance to trade michael redd for ray allen, do I do it? How good does Redd become? Because Allen is at the peak of his career, where as redd still has room to grow.

Will he ever surpass Allen as a player in Live 06?

id keep redd if i were you, or you could sacrifice some players and have allen at SF

Having Allen at SF might work out, two 3 point bombers with Chauncey Billups who can also hit it. I'd be a predominantly outside team, but its not liek Boris Diaw adds much offense anyways.

Thing is, I'd be sacrificing defense and rebounds.

I don't think I can get Allen without losing Redd.

So in your opinion, keep redd?

I would keep Redd. I always liked him better because I found he was better at getting to the rim than Allen, thus making him great for creating for his teammates. Plus, like you said, he's younger than Allen and he'll be around longer.

i wud keep redd becuz him unlike allen can get to da free throw line and can take contact n make and 1s

Ri-ight... And Ray Allen can't do that.

I would get Ray Allen. He's a lot better..and plus it's not like you're going to be playing for 5 years in this dynasty.

diaw is god, no matter what, you win everything with him. but yeah, Malfa had it right. Most people quit after a year or 2, so just do the trade for the helluvit.

allen is MUCH better than red in this game, especially because of his ability to finish inside, he dunks quite well, though redd is younger.

WHAHAT? As much as I love Allen(I live in the Seattle area) YES, Allen is much better BUT nobody's mentioned regarding Allen's salary. $17 MILLION! I have Allen on one of my Dynasty's and I can't move him or get the team better because of that outrageous contract he signed.

Keep Redd!

That's a good point. Redd has more bang for his buck.

but if you quit after one season like this guy inevitably will, it doesn't matter

both of them are great shooters, 3 point shooters, great players, but I think that you should keep Redd, dont trade him, he is younger, and his rating is gonna go up over the years to at least 85-90 or 88-93, I'm telling you. Allen is getting older, and weaker, and worser, Im not saying he aint good, but if you want future, and possible titles I'd keep Redd.
