Way to view roster patches in text editor?

Hi,
I've played this series on and off since the mid-90's. I don't get the new one every year but I've followed it regularly. I have an xbox and I have Live 2005. I'm posting here because this forum seems a lot more active.
I want to get a roster update but I haven't found any for 2005. Instead, I now just want to be able to view the data somehow so I can at least update some of the players myself or add some rookies. Is there any way to do this?

You can view the dbf files from the roster update with DB Commander, MS Access or MS Excel. There's also some other DBF editors (DBF Viewer Pro is one) that can be used as well.
