something annoying about nba live 06

haven't any one has been in this situation
-led by about 20 points
-playing a lower rating team against a higher rating team
almost everytime in these situtation i kept missing not just open shots, but even MISSED almost all OPEN DUNKS/LAYUPS...while the comp kept making many contested shot, if it didnt there's always an offensive rebound for the easy shot(massive offensive rebounds)......c'mon it's alright if theyr being aggresive but with my team kept missing those OPEN DUNKS..the worst 'close game' ever...now everutime i had a lead i have to led the comp to get back (coz its driving me mad when u cannot score even with good rhytm n great offensive/defensive play)..its like the opponent destined to win eventhough how dumb they played...can't they play better to win...with the point guard whose always the man of the match for the cpu team...is there any patch (or anythnig to solve this)...
(its not impossible if charlotte beat detroit 100-50 if they played a good game right rite??)

Um, yes I lead by 20, not too hard, Obviously you can do a lower rate team vs a higher. Play Pistons vs Suns. Pistons have a higher rating. Not hard, stupid.
Skipping all that garbage...

Yes it is weird. Charlotte couldn't trash anybody by 50 unless you have different rosters.

It's a common problem the last few editions. There's a "comeback code" in the game, a part of the AI that allows the CPU to catch up like that to keep things challenging. It's a good concept but unfortunately it's too aggressive and unrealistic.

And just before anyone asks, since it has been asked before - the "comeback code" is not a cheat code you can punch in to improve your team. It's just a nickname for the aforementioned behaviour that's coded into the AI.

damn theres sumthin else comin in ur head...i can do both scored 20, beat higher rarting teams, if you had that too, im impressed??...the thing is the cpu gets back by 'cheating'(same story^ ^ ^...)...wut kind of hard r u talking about anyway...
my problems with rating is i have a good starting lineup but the ratings is way down (mayb because of the problem with the bench players)

oh yes charlotte players make good plays to get open shots, defense etc.........it can win mann(its up to the controller, not the game!!)

use the brain a little longer b4 replying so that it dont get stupid enough

The trick is to really slow down on offense and concentrate on playing solid D if you build up a lead, and anticipate the IA comeback. It's gonna happen, are you ready for it? Can you deal with it? It actually makes the game fun, if you approach it like that.

I think what happens is that you get all agro in building up a lead, and just continue playing like that, rushing shots, trying to push the ball like crazy up court, taking chances on D, lofting 3 pts, etc. If you're up by around 15-20 heading into the 4th, you've gotta really change your approach to ofset the AI.

-You make 2 consecutive steals, and then the oppenent suddenly can strip you easy OR you make an inbounds play, and the ball goes flying out of bounds.
-You make a couple three's, and then you go cold the entire game.

Live 04 was probably the worst example. Layups = Shit. EA needs to get it right with this shit AI.

It works both ways, if your team is down in the fourth quarter you will make just as many unlikely shots and steals. Actualy I've had fourth quarters like that while I was ahead, and blown out the CPU by a huge margin. I think home team advantage hase something to do with it.

The problem may be the same for All-Star and Superstar, but it's much more noticable in Superstar.

Unfortunatly, if you were a fan of either the Phoenix Suns or Seattle Supersonics in the mid '90s, this is rather realistic. Great teams, but damn could they play sloppy if they had huge leads.

True. CPU Assistance also works for the User though, whereas the "comeback code" logic only helps the CPU.

I've been so pissed many times, but if you keep beeing concentratet both offense and defense, it is for sure beatable.. I have just played a match against a "wack" bulls team, except from the annoying Hinrich, and I won 138-88, I was just playing safe in every play as if it was the most importent play .. Just wanned to beat that fucking comeback code.. @ All-Star ..

But it is most annoying when you play multiplayer with your friends, daaaamn I'm getting mad, we don't need any comeback help ..
