Have you restored the original database files in currentdb, workingdb and originaldb? Sometimes that helps with those crashes.

Check out the Patching Issues for information on graphics editing, there's some good tutorials posted there.

It could be your video card... some other peeps with the same video card had your problem... you might also try the sticky "SOLUTION FOR GAME CRASH AT LAUNCH" or whatever, that I posted. :)

It might just fix your problem, since you aren't swimming in ram and your CPU isn't that fast.

I've got the same issue.

Pentium D 840 Extreme Edition, GeForce 7800GTX 512MB, 4GB DDR-2 RAM. (Likewise a friend of mine with a decent 'puter - though he's got an ATI card).

Games fine, but in Dynasty mode... the NLSC rosters work no problem... but if we add ourselves (which we've been doing since Live '96) you get to training camp and it kicks you back out to the Windows desktop, without an error message... but like I say... the NLSC and default rosters aren't a problem. Just seems odd we can't CAP.

Dear lord. Greeno, you've got a freaking monster of a computer. It's clearly not your computer. I've experianced the same with me, as it kicks me out whenever I try to add myself to the game. Most likely its a bug. Thing is, EA doesn't update their games.

Thanks :)

I'm Technical Director of the firm I work at and we're very close with NVIDIA, ATI, Intel etc... and they give me free stuff :)

yikes, so no definite fix for this? :( I have a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz, 512MB Ram and Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 with 128MB Memory -- not being able to add players is a sucky way to go

Yeah, definately (sucky)... it's definately a database problem with create-a-player... I wonder if some database whiz here could look into it? or whether there's a way of editing the players.dbf 'after' the save has been created to add a player?

Might be worth a shot.

I think I got it figured out folks, well I know my idea works, cyz I can play the game. If you install the lastest roster patch 1.06, it seems if you try to transfer over a credited player using db commander and paste with append it won't let you play (crashed) however if you paste over another player (any player you dont want in the nba when you play , i took kendil gill, since he's trying to box now and pasted my created player over him. Oh yea remember which spot he has and take that number. not roster spot but spot at the front, like the one that list total number of players in the nba, i think its like 2124, so your created player would be 2125 if you transfered it over, but i took kendills spot of 218 and bam the game worked.
