3 pt contest hangs after patching

I just recently purchased live 06, went straight to nlsc and downloaded some patches (tnt, ball, rar file, etc.) I noticed that after I patched the files the 3pt contest is no longer playable. it hangs everytime a shooter is supposed to start. has anybody experienced this ? could it be the patches ? can i reverse this still or do i have to re-install ?
