when I click on teamgear.dbf in db commander 2000 i cant open it. There's an error and it says " Error opening "teamgear.DBF" table: Encrypted dBASE tables not supported"

Why's it like that?

Sounds like the file is corrupted or there's a problem in DB Commander. I've never encountered that error before so I'm just guessing.

I've had quite a few things on my mind this week, all of which were much more important than that correction. However, I'll go and make it now. :)

i need to know why my dynasy keeps crashing when i edit the dbf's like changing players to different teams

Fri Mar 31, 2006 4:49 pm

There's a lot of reasons it could be happening. When trading players via dbf editing, you need to make sure that no players on the same team share the same ROSTERPOS value. Also, it's best to edit the game with DB Commander or DBF Viewer Pro rather than Excel as it's easy to save the files incorrectly using Excel thus corrupting them and rendering them unuseable.

how do you save your edited files with db commander. i edit them like smush parker and new jerseys but i dont know what to do after that.

Mon May 15, 2006 3:22 am

It auto-saves when you exit.

Mon May 15, 2006 3:24 am

oh i always try that and for some reason the players or jerseys never show up

It's best to edit a saved file rather than the dbfs in currentdb/workingdb etc so you can easily reload the modified file. Be sure to backup the save before you tinker in case something goes wrong.

I'm having the same problem as hammertime... I edited my teamgear file for the new Nets alternate and exited. I went right back into DBC and found it right back where it was before I worked on it.

you need to click on the little tick sign before u exit the program i made that mistake when i first used it too

Sun May 28, 2006 7:56 am

what exactly does this little tick sign look like? because i can get players to work but not uniforms.

It's beneath the scrollbar, the fourth icon from the right. You should be able to just move to another cell in the database to save the changes though.
