Computer FG And 3 point shooting

i have always been able to block the cpu from dunking a decent amount of the time but have always had trouble trying to stop their three's or fg's. can any1 help me

You will not be able to stop the CPU from making a few three pointers in the game and blocking a three is almost impossible. But if you stay in their faces and give them a really hard time defensively, (that means jumping up to contest the shot - works only if you get close to your man) they will not only try less 3point shots, they also will sink a reasonable amount of them. As always, practice is the key.

i blocked a few times when they are shooting 3s but like debiler said it's almost unlikely

because the blocking was too good in 05, they decided to make blocking shots impossible (practically) in 06 (even with slider at 100). its still easy to block dunks/layups though.

it's easy to block the layups but the cpu doesn't recognize it in the game
he will say you've lost the ball or something

Only if you block it and it goes out of bounds. The block will still be counted, though. Same for loose balls. BTW: FIX THAT, EA!

on the topic of 3 pointers/long jumpers: for some reason even at superstar level if i pump fake and then go for the jumper/3pointer, the cpu never ever ever contests my shot, even if they dont go for the fake. this makes it almost insanely easy to hit 3s throughout the game because all i need to do is get right in the defenders face, fake and then just go for the shot even if he doesnt fall for it because he wont do shit to contest the shot. never happened with 04 or 05

Yeah.. play on all-star all the time!
