What does it mean by "Clear a spot for player"?

When trying to sign some free agents, I get a message that there is either no roster space (yet there is) or there's "no spot" for the player, so he can't accept my offer. What exactly does this mean?

No I've definitely got salary cap space (I've got 5 mil), but I can't seem to sign a player that I've offered 3 mil. If it was a money issue (as in the player wanting more money), I would imagine that they would say just that.

Download the NLSC Roster Patch..

I think there was something wrong with the rosters, it wouldnt let you sign more than 12 players. Its fine for me now though.

It means you already have 15 players on your roster. You are allowed to have only 15 players on your roster.

Release on of your players then sign that free agent.
Kobe's favorite player talks about Kobe
"I think he does what he has to do," San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili said. "Of course, there's a difference between 35 and 25 shots, but he's got that ability to make every shot. Even if it's in front of two guys he jumps so high on fadeaways it doesn't matter. He's got so many resources, it's easy for him to take 35 shots. If I was his teammate, I wouldn't care."

Mostly all good FA's after the end of the season go back into their last teams. Maybe a team withhuge cap space(charlotte, new orleans) can sign him.

afgshady, I haven't completed a full season yet so I don't know exactly what offseason signing and stuff is like, but if it's anything like the previous Lives, then you should be able to resign players on your team who's contracts are up (even if it takes you over the salary cap). If you don't do this, then the player goes to free agency and then you have to have salary space if you want to sign him back.
