Problem Installing Kwame Brown Face Patch

Wed Dec 14, 2005 12:46 am

I downloaded the Kwame Brown Face Patch and followed the instructions for installation. The portrait was installed correctly but the skin looks like this in game:

Can someone please tell me what I did wrong?

I tried installing a few more times but it still has the same results. I know it has something to do with the EA Graphics Editor 1.0.4b that I used. I followed the instructions in the readme very carefully but for some reason I can't get this face patch to work.

What seems wrong? The skin color? I can't really tell. You might have to change the skin color in the appearance.dbf.

Are you using DB Commander?

It's definitely not the skin color. His face has no detail at all. Even his eyes are blanked out.

Here's how it should look like:

Here's how it currently looks in game:

No, I just used the EA Graphics Editor. Here's the instructions that I followed from the readme:

1.Enter EA Graphics Editior

2. Open plyrprts.viv From your Nba Live 06 Folder
(c:\program files\ea sports\nba live 06\fe\plyrprts.viv)

3.Click "Import Wizard". Now Click "Add files to an External TAR archive"
Then Click "Next"

4. Click "add" And Open plyrprts~KWBROWN.big. Now Click "Next"
And then Click Finished.

5. Now Open plyrface.viv From your Nba Live 06 Folder
(c:\program files\ea sports\nba live 06\sgsm\players\plyrface.viv)

6.Click "Import Wizard". Now Click "Add files to an External TAR archive"
Then Click "Next"

7. Click "add" And open kwbrown.fsh And kwbrownr.fsh and Click "Next"
And then Click Finished.

8.Start The Game and Here Your Result.

I probably wouldn't have done that, I would have put the files in sgsm.

Wed Dec 14, 2005 1:16 pm

So I should just forget about the EA Graphics Editor process and just put all the files in the sgsm folder? All right, I'll try that out and report the outcome.

If that doesn't work I think it might be your video card it looks pretty weak no offense.

Wed Dec 14, 2005 5:19 pm

I have a ATI Radeon X800XL w/256MB. It's not the best video card presently but it sure does the job with all my latest games set to max settings so it's definitely not my GC that's causing the problem.

I'm sure that's not the graphic card. I've already experimented that problem, just try to reinstall the patch again and it should work, but this time drop the files in the sgsm folder.

Thanks LegoTP, I'll try that.

Thu Dec 15, 2005 12:06 pm

that is cool and scary

Thu Dec 15, 2005 12:46 pm

happened to me too..

Thu Dec 15, 2005 11:34 pm

I placed all the files in the sgsm folder but I'm still getting the same result. Screw it; I'll just use EA's Kwame Brown face for now. Thanks for all your help guys. :D

Even I had the same problem with Kwame Brown :D So I just deleted the fsh file from sgsm and am playing with EA's. :D
