help with the ppjoy virtual controller!

Postby redeemer021 on Thu Nov 10, 2005 8:22 pm

I tried the ppjoy virtual controller but It does not appear in the controller configuration. It seems that I was confused with the latter part of the instructions. Can somebody explain in detail what exactly to do right after I map my configuration in the ppjoy key. Thanks.

When in the game you map out your controller buttons, save them as PS2 setup for example. And make sure to switch it to PS2 setup or whatever you saved the setup as before you open the game.

I still dont get it. I followed the instructions in the other thread on how to use the ppjoy virtual controller so that I can back down with the keyboard. The problem is after I map the buttons in the ppjoy key it says in the instructions that I must save the .ini file, where will I save it? what file name? after that I copied the script to a notepad and saved it in the /NBAlive06/config folder as ppjoy.jfg, I noticed that the file was still in txt format not jfg. And when I start the game the ppjoy does not appear in the controller configuration. Anyone here please give a detail instruction what exactly should I do. Thanks.

Save the .ini where you want, with any name. Them, everytime that you execute ppjoy key load your .ini, and don´t close ppjoykey

That's a pretty bad setup if you need to have software running so your configurations stay... I can just do mine through the windows control panel...

I have the ppjoykey running but it still doesnt appear in the controller configuration. I think my problem is when I copied the script in notepad to make the ppjoy.jfg file, when I right click to view its properties it appears as a .txt file not a .jfg file. Can somebody email me their ppjoy.jfg file my address is redeemer021@yahoo.com, thenks.

omg even if you cant save it as jfg, how hard can it be to think of a different solution......go copy and paste one of the thrustmaster/logitech configs in your config folder to another one and rename it to ppwhatever and delete and replace the script.
then copy and paste it back to your nba live fodler and voila you have a working ppwhatever.jfg file.
The method described in the other thread is the most common and easiest
...

and btw you gotta chose all file types, if u wanna save as jfg
