Trade advice

Postby Donyell on Mon Oct 31, 2005 9:42 am

I'm playing a dynasty with the Suns and I am in my first season.
I've simmed to see what happens and how much everyone will be asking to be re-signed.

Amare asks around 50 mil/5 years
Jackson 4 mil/1 year
James Jones 3.8 mil/2 years
Kareem Rush (trade for Bell,...) 20.45 mil/6years

If I want to keep Amare, I can't sign anyone else :?
And I traded Bell, because he wasn't really performing well in my dynasty, Rush is doing a great job coming off the bench, but he is expensive as hell.

What should I do? Keep Amare and focus my offence around him, trade him for another PF with a longer contract? And what about Rush?

Thx,
Donyell

I haven't got the game yet, so I only speak from 2005 experience, but you can resign any of your free agents for any amount (even if you go over the cap). You just won't be able to sign anybody else's free agents

Yes you can sign your free agents even if you are over your salary cap. But if you do, you wont have any cap to sign other FA's (e.g. Ben Walalce if you're lucky enough that he doesnt resign w/ Pistons)

I think you should try to sign James Jones for sure. A young gun who does'nt want the big money yet. Then I would pass on Rush (too expensive) and Jackson (too old) and then you gotta choose who you rather have Amare or Big Ben. Big ben will probably not be resigned so you could try to get him.

I'd resign Amare & Rush. Keep the young core, Rush, with the help of some coaching/training turns out to be a shooter so I'd keep that in mind.

Jackson is indeed too old, I don't really dig playing with him either. Too short for a SF the way I play.

I wouldn't go for Big Ben, he's only defense and asks quite a bit. Besides, he's already in his 30's.

Focus your offense around Amare, add some complimentary players & lead the Suns into the playoffs and battle it out against the likes of Garnett, Duncan, Nowitzki & once in the Finals...Shaq.

hold up, re-sign Rush....you'll only have to pay him about 3.5mill/yr, which is a good price.

the players you have are decent, and come at a good price. 50/5 for Amare is a bargain, considering that he'll turn out to be a monster and upon a contract renewal will demand more.

Thx for the answers, I guess I'll re-sign everybody except Jackson.
