Setting keyboard controller is not working?

I´m having a problem.
I´m setting a different configuration for keyboard since the default one is not confortable for me but the problem is the following.
1st) I set up the new configuration and save it under the name "X"
2nd) I go to play the match and I have to choose as I was using joystick to set the "X" configuration ¿is that right?
3rd) The match starts and the players stay still and don´t respond to any of the keys configures (up, down, left, right, pass, shoot...)
What am I doing wrong?

that line right there kinda confuses me. one thing tho, on the controller select screen, did you click on the controller icon and select the "x" as your setting before you played the match?
