Computer Crashes & game won't install on Laptop

Wed Oct 19, 2005 4:16 am

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for helping me with my current situation. I have two problems:

First: Dell XPS Gen2 Laptop, 2.0GHZ, nVidia 6800 Ultra GO, 1GB Ram

I will attempt to install this game on my laptop, the first disc does well.. as soon as it prompts me to enter the second disc I open up the cd drive and place the 2nd disc in... then the install just stays put.. doesn't move and never finishes the install. I have no idea what happened but I tried this like 5 more times and the same thing happens.

Second: Desktop, P4 3.0GHz, Abit IC7- Max3 MB, Radeon 9700 Pro, 1GB Ram, 120GB Maxtor 7200rpm drive.

Since the install didn't work on my laptop I decided to give it a shot on my desktop. It installs perfectly no problems at all.. however when I play the game it freezes and then crashes my computer. I never can get passed the first quarter... have no idea what's on here either.

If anyone can help me I will be forever thankful.. i couldn't wait for this game to come out and now that I can't play it its even worse. NBA live 05 ran perfectly on my Desktop (never attempted to install it on my laptop) with no problems...someone please help.

try ejecting the 2nd disk and push it back in again..sometime, it helps if the cd rom has problem reading the disk.

As for the second question, it's an issue with your driver. Update the lastest driver and see if that works..if it doesn't, remove the driver and when you log back in, let XP install the vidoe card itself...see if that helps...
