.dbf Editing for Created Player Portraits in 06

Thu Oct 06, 2005 10:12 pm

I have created the Dallas Rookie Rawle Marshall using the "Create a Player" feature in NBA Live 06. I have also made his portrait using Kevin's Tutorial for 05. I know that there are no problems with the portrait itself because I was able to see it after inserting into another player package for testing purposes.

However, I cannot get the portrait to show up for the created player. I have edited appearance.dbf and players.dbf as noted in existing guides, with the exception of the ID7 field in appearance.dbf and the FACEPATCH field in players.dbf, which I cannot find in the 06 files. Are there new fields in 06 that have to be edited to use a portrait with a created player?

If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. I apologize in advance if the answer appears elsewhere in the forum, but I have searched pretty extensively and cannot find it....

Likewise here, I'm also having trouble with this.

A portrait will only show up on a created player if you also have a cyberface for that player. I think you can copy an existing player's cyberface and rename it for this purpose if you don't have a cyberface already made.

I've got a cyberface ready to go, it's one that I downloaded which also included a picture portrait. I've done all the dbf editing (which I followed from one of your previous posts - cheers for that by the way (Y)) for the cyberface part but the portrait doesn't show up.

Also in the game the player has a pink head. Is there something I've missed somewhere?

I've run across that problem before, I know exactly what it is. Somewhere along the lines of editing the .dbf or in the names of the files, a mistake was made in the name of the player. Go back through the .dbf, and then if need be look at the files to see if you made a mistake. Even something like switching two letters around by accident will cause the game to not recognize them
