The triple threat position is a position where you can shoot, pass or dribble the ball (hence the name triple)

you can shoot,pass or dribble everywhere on the court.

it's not a physical place on the court. by position it means that the player has just received the ball and has the feet set, so he has the option to shoot, pass or dribble.
