Nope. u can do self alley oop w/ a high flyer when ur wide open in exhibition games. i realized that when there are defenders on u and u try to do the self alley oop, the player just dunks (a freestyle superstyle dunk but i forgot what its called). The reason why it's easier to do in rookie games/all star weekend games is that every stat is raised up in those modes and secondly its the stars playing the game. thats why its easier to score and do fancy dunks in those modes but harder to do in regular exhibition games. ofcourse, u cant do a self alley oop in an exhibition game when there are defenders on u. i normally get/do self alley hoops on fast breaks when there are no defenders around.
and on the PS2, self alley oop is = hold L1 and then hold the triangle button when u are far from the basket (like between the area of the free throw line and the 3pt line)
