Man that's horrrible, I feel pitty for you. I thought your spec is decent enough to play live 06, I mean that's a good spec compared to PS2 which runs Live 06 at smooth 30fps with nice details and setting. BTW, Xbox runs live 06 at 60fps with some minor slowdown at a much higher details and xbox is a Pentium 3/celeron hybrid at 733mhz and equipped with a Gforce3 card although consoles don't have OS to run while running games.

first of all, you really can't compare a Pentium M and a P4. Yes, the centrino is more powerful than a P4, but it's designed to save power, and the clock speed is lower, though the caches are larger to compensate for that. For games, you need higher clock speed, and the caches don't really matter. The video card goes is the same. I assume you mean Geforce 6600, when you use a Pentium M processor, the video cards are also the "mobile" version. I actually have never seen a Pentium M paired with a good video card like the 6600, because the PM is there to save power and it is usually paired with a weak but less power consuming video cards like "intel extrem graphics." anyways, i wouldn't count on a Pentium M to run games. At least you have 1gb of ram!

maybe you are not very familar with computers..
Go read some reviews on Pentium M's game performances against P4's.. Ghz do not really mean anything.. look at the AMD 64.. it is about how many instructions can be done per clock.. the PM 1.8ghz is easily comparable to a 3.0ghz P4.. go 6600 means geforce go 6600. which is a mobile version.. it is not as fast as the deskstop version but like i said it is approx equiv to a 9700pro..

to futher support more GHZ doesn't mean anything, well now we are coming up with dual core which does not increase the clock speed, and Intel is moving away from the horrible P4 core to upgraded PM core for their future CPUs..

like bluetooth i am disappointed at the speed.. i don't get it.. yes i have all my drivers up to date

i'm sure the ps2 version and xbox are optimized very well and run at a much lower resolution than the PC one.. but still.. i just like to know wut other ppl's performances are like..

okay this has got to be da most retarded post ever..

i just realize why it was so slow... i checked my drivers.. well they r really up to date. cuz i formatted not long ago.. since its the school year... i stopped playin games and i tuned down my video card's speed to minimal for battery saving purpose.. well now i am running maximum at good FPS..

turned a few things down such as crowd animation, bench players and i am playin at like at least 50fps with everything maxed out =)

da game has just turned pretty awsome lol

I hate it when that happens... You just wonder and wonder about why the hell does this work like this and go ask people in forums etc. about why it does something it shouldn't and then you realize you've done something to make it do that... It always makes me feel pretty darn stupid...

A good place to learn how to laugh at one self...

when i got the game, the graphics were absolute crap.. i couldn't believe it, and i started to become scared..

i played around with all the detail settings, and nothing changed
then i just made the resolution to the highest one.. graphics are sparkly clear :P

Another thing that affects performance is the rpm's on the hard drive. Most laptop drives are 4200rpm and some now are at 5400rpm like the one I just placed in my laptop but the downside is it runs hotter. For comparison 5400rpm is really slow for a desktop drive, mine is at 7200rpm. It makes accessing information on the drive comparably slower than a desktop. This years version of live is by far the best looking overall. While most of the faces could have been done better the player models and environment look much better.

man i play @ max w/ 2xAA 4xAF with my xp2000+ @ 200x10 and 9800pro, 1024x768. frames don't drop below 60. must be a driver issue or something like that.
