Wed Sep 28, 2005 6:51 pm

Hi I just got my nba06, and now that i want to play it there is a problem.

In the menus everything is ok, but when i go to the game, practise, 1on1, the screen (after the loading is finished) becomes all weird. I can see the players, but the sound is jumping, so is the picture and the players look weird. the picture moves every 5 sec.

Hey man,i dont have any probs with the game, and my graphic card is the same than yours, well mine is GeForce 4 MX 4000 128mb but there is no Lightning and the game looks bad, well the faces are good, but it's a sensation of playing NBA LIVE 2000
We really need to buy a best card to play properly, huh???
I've downloaded last drivers too,but the problem is the card, there is not support for T&L
There is a patch for T&L emulation like 05???

I had that problem before too, with my Geforce 2.
My problem was that the graphic card is old...and it's kinda broken
So I got FX5200 now, and it's workin' great on Live 2005

Live 06 yet to see, but I think it's gonna work though

my friend has the same vid card and it worked he had 64mb on it, but i dont think that matters, just make sure to update ur drivers

change your gforce 4 if it has about lower than 64 mb on it.

I guess you have the latest drivers for your video card. Try getting older drivers for you card that might work. It worked for me with NBA Live 05, and I had a Ati Radeon 7500.

Man i`m gonna f***g go mad. I tried everything. Installed the newest drivers, the old ones, the omega nvidia drivers and nothing helped. I´ve even reinstalled windows XP. I tried to play it on my neighbours comp and it worker fine. He has the same comp like mine the only difference is that I have Geforce 4 mx440 and he has geforce 4 mx420.

Maybe there is a different reason???
Could it be audio? I have integrated audio card on my mainboard.

i think its something with directx

Well, I come back :)

I had the same card and the same problem about a year ago, and solved it.

Go to www.guru3d.com "Downloads" section, "Videocards - Overclocking & Tweaking" category, and search for Coolbits (if you are using Detonator drivers) or ForceWare Coolbits 2.0 (if you are using ForceWare drivers). Download it.

This thing adds a registry value so you can change some NVIDIA settings like clock frequency. So do right click in desktop, Properties, Configuration, Advanced options, Geforce 4MX..., and search a new setting like overclocking or something like that (I have it as "Clock Frequency Settings"). Change the values there, especially for core clock, to something like 234 MHz, and leave memory clock, or you can up it a bit (I have mine at 321 MHz). Accept (the first time I think you have to reboot) and play.

This is what I am doing. If I play with core at 275 MHz (predetermined) I have the same bad screenshots and performance. Now with 234 I can play. I recommend you to go slowly, first reduce 15 MHz, then 10, until you have the value. And I have to say that it is an important setting, and an error may cause really bigger problems. Do it with care.

And, obviously, this isn't a great card (I am now searching prices for better cards to buy), but it can play NBA 2005 (i think is the same with 06)
