Don't use keyboard. It's not possible to do a lot of shit because the keyboard sucks for games for the msot part.

I would recommend buying a controller, you don't get as good as a feel when using the keyboard. :)

Yeah i would recommend a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad or Logiech Rumblepad 2.
I have the Rumblepad 2 and its excellent. Pretty much a PS2 controller.
Also they are endorsed by EA Sports (has a logo on the box)

When I use the right analog stick on my controller, it just does the equivelent (sp?) to the direction on the buttons, like if i move it up its like pressing triangle, and if i move it down its like pressing X, can anyone help?

im also having the same problem too, its shitting me how i cant play post with anyone. Manuals say that the spacebar and "r" key are the equivalent of the right analog stick but they dont work. I would get a controller but im too use to playing nba live with a keyboard.

there isnt a category for "backdown". if there was obviously u could backdown. probably would be better just to get a controller.

I had the same problem, so yeah (Andrew possibly?) please answer the guys question, I get the ball in the post and I all i can do is run through the guy, its frickin' annoying. And the whole "go and buy a controller" thing isnt an answer to the question, and I ain't buying one either, always used keyboard always will.

Ok after much playing around I found out what they've done with the ol' backdown/post up key. Pull and hold the right thumbstick in the down position to go into a backdown/post up position.

It's kinda awkward to be honest but you get used to it.
So I guess for those without the thumbsticks it'd be holding the key that represents your back step special move. A tap should make your player take a back step but holding the button should make them go into a backdown/post up.

No. When you play with a controller pushing down on the right thumbstick makes the player take a back step, works good for getting open shots etc. When I pull down and hold the right thumbstick it takes me into the post up/backdown animation.

Sorry. I am not sure what the button would be on keyboard but it's not pro hop/jump.

I admire your guys for playing using the keyboard all these years.
It requires skill.
I have a logitech dua action, and I bet i can´t beat by anyone who plays with the keyboard. I´ve never tried to match someone on the keyboard, cuz all my frieds use the joystick...
oh welll

I've had similar problems. The back down function, as mentioned by mozza is now achieved by holding down the right analog stick. So, I don't know about doing that on keyboard.

Also, I used to use that same button for boxing out. Now how the heck do I box out, cos, when the ball is in the air on a rebound and i press down on the analog stick, I do a stupid off ball control move, not box out. grrrrr.
