Need some opinions, about joining EA and 2K

okay i have thought about this a longggg time, please for all the fan boys of live..please don't sapz out on me. okay for those who are broad minded(btw sorry to the moderators if this thread is not suppose to be here could you move if it was wrong?) okay i have been dreaming of playing live lately  and i had this lil vision, it was the game 2k6 live and at first that game look 2kish, but then i realized it was nba live motion capture and 2k's. i think that would've been cool to have both good sides of each game join together, i really know this happening is slimmer than a sheet of paper but it would be cool, the presentation of 2k is just wonderful but doesn't quite play up to the looks of it, while live's graphics ARE NOT AS good at 2k's BUT the gameplay is much better. and for those who have played the 2 games tell me what you think about this, imagine. sweet graphics of both 2k and live, the game paly of live, presentation of 2k(like those sounds..so real..thomping after you land on your jump, sneakers squeeaks,) i uno but it feels really cool to have that happening, and for the 2k football team if you can't beat them, join em :o! i uno people give me some comments. and 2k!! please make a computer one for the computer user!! thanks for reading guys :D :D:D:D:D:D

Wishful thinking. But it could happen in a future version of NBA Live. Just don't cross your fingers too tightly.

personally i think that i would rather play just live...i looked at 2k videos and live videos and too me it looks like live has better graphics...better gameplay...all it would be missing is the squeeking shoes or w/e u are talking about...i have played 2k games but i like live way better in just about every aspect.

If we could combine the graphics of the 2k series..with the gameplay of live...with the dynasty of the 2k series..with the extras and patchability of live...then we'd have something special.

Live's dynasty is better than 2k's except for 2 things:
- the draft (2k's draft is awesome)
- the trading block (where you can place a player and wait for offers)

Gameplay: hard to chose. Live gives you more freedom on the court, but it's totally unrealistic at times. 2k is never unrealistic but you cannot pull off as many moves as in Live.

Graphic: for me there is no competition. 2K wins hands down. In fact, Live's graphic is terrible, players look and move very weird. Body models are just wrong. Running equals skating, and the ball bounces like a yo-yo. Camera angles are horrible as well.

I have both 2005 games editions. I don't know about 2006. For what I have read and seen, Live didn't innovate enough, while 2k6 added many things and built a new game from scratch..not forgetting the good from 2005.

I also dream about a game that looks like 2K, but has an involving dynasty mode as Live.

This is gonna happen only in one way: It will be 2k that will make that further step toward a perfect game. To me, those guys are working harder than EA and seem to always keep an eye on the market. EA is stuck to an old way to develop games and I just don't see them making that final step. 2k dynasty mode has taken a good direction recently, if they could just enhance it a little bit more and deliver that "feeling" that many EA games have always had...then 2k is defenetly gonna take other.

you need both titles around to appreciate the other game.. personally i like having 2 different styles of gameplay instead of having all of them integrated in 1 game

I like the intangibles in 2k, it shows they pay attention to the detailes and puts effort into their games. For example, the crowd reacts MUCH more realistically. After a shot is made, players would pass the ball to the person out of bounds so that they can inbound. Unlike Live where the inbounder always has to pick up the ball dribble it and inbound. The rim and net is also much better in 2k. Missed shots by good shooters will rim out, there are long rebounds, and from what I saw, moves around the post are much more realistic rather than the simple shoot or layup button that offers like 3 moves. The court is much more porportioned and open. When the whistle is blown, players don't just immediately drop the ball and stand around or dribble out of bounds to inbound. There are also cheerleaders and mascots. Teams with shiny jerseys will have shines. And most of all, the dribbling animations are superior. When you add up all the little things, it can really change the atmosphere. And IMO, 2k series gives a more authentic broadcast feel.

2k is never unrealistic but you cannot pull off as many moves as in Live.

I have to disagree, in terms of how it looks, maybe, but when you play over 100 games on both, you start to see some very stupid things, lord have mercy

It won't happen, this has been expressed before by many, but it's not going to happen anytime soon.

If 2K started using Live's gameplay I would stop buying the game. The only reason I stopped playing Live and started playing 2K5 is because I prefered the gameplay.

While I did like the gameplay for 2k5, I found the shooting to be unrealistic at times. There would be one player on every team when i simmed that would rack up 40 something points, when I did my kings association, Peja averaged 37 points a game. As much as I like him, that's never going to happen, not even if he goes to the hawks.

wow lot's of people are replying::D thanks guys...but who really likes the idea that nba 06 is brewing...it smells gooddd...i personally like the rpg thingie going on:p
2k5 people...the players they move so..hmm how to say it..some joints are like locked if you know what i mean..not natural and i absolutely agree with ko8e that...2k gives you a awesome broadcast like feel if anyone saw the xbox 360 video...you can see camera's flashing after a shot or big play..2k gives people a very authentic view maybe nba live should start biting...no soory thinking of their own ideas  wink* the shooting in 2k is horrid...so stiff and they way they friggin score from inside..doesn't feel right iverson would usually lay if up instead of fading away 3 feet from the basket! Jae you don't play live!?!?!? ohh yesh j.23 is right..maybe having 2 games would make you appreciate it...but i can't play 2 games;) on only have a pc..if 2k made it for pc :D nah..won't happen. but it wouldn't bad if they joined together right?!? :P

The only thing 2K got over Live is its presentation, oh and Live got better graphics too but miniature models of the players make it hard to tell,"center court"angle proves this.........thank God EA got ESPN's licence next year,we get to have their great presentation, replays and highlights...

some user said EA is not making any improvements, maybe these will strike a few chymes in ur ears
1)2k just got dual player control, strip and rip, shot stick and so much other fancy names

My point being:
May i say dat all these are already in Live? wat more do u expect of them?we have offball mode, ppl seem to forget about them, cause wen they playing wit their friends its all about dunks

2K's shotstick is kinda similar to Live's freestyle stick

Strip and rip in 2K is the same as using the right thumbstick to go for steals in Live......plus FSS is just like incorporating a whole new gameplay and yet u hear ppl saying EA aint doing nothing  Live's gameplay is ahead of 2K , yes it is

2k is playing catchup, theres just so many fancy names dat 2K give to their features, wen infact in Live its just known in common terms,

Player emotions are back in Live06...my point is if ppl got to know the inside-outs of live2005, they'd agree dat game was the BEST nba game ever made and i cant wait for 2006..FSS is a whole new gameplay itself

I'd actually prefer competition. In theory, it drives both developers to do their best they can with each game.

that would just result to crappy sequels. the first one would have an 85% chance of being great but then they would get lazy without the competition.
