ahhh sorri i still dun get wut u mean by using playmaker playbook? i m juss saying outta all sliders i used, playamker's one is the only one that make the CPU use plays to get their best players to score, other sliders, they onli make the cpu move around n shoot so unrealistic...

But again, sliders do not affect the playbooks at all. Playmakers' playbooks are compatible with any roster update or slider combination so there should be no problem there. What you are suggesting is impossible. Playbooks are not controlled by the sliders at all. None of the sliders would make the CPU run plays less often. What you are suggesting is definitely not slider related. It's just not possible because, once again, the sliders do not have that effect on the game.

Andrew,

I tried playing on Superstar level, won the first game with your sliders. Strange I'd played 3 games before on All-Star level with your sliders and lost each one. Although I normally used the Bulls, this time I used the Heat and controlled the SG again.

So far I must say I've prefered Playmakers sliders on All-Star level and yours on Superstar. The faster pace of Playmakers feels more arcade like to me but as a sim (if that makes any sense). It's like the increased speed can be more enjoyable on a lower difficulty level but your slower, tougher, more grueling sliders feel more fun (for me) on Superstar when you can't be as Cavalier (Not Cleveland - poor humour yes) with the ball. Thats only in my opinion folks and I'm not taking away from anyones sliders here and my comments are positive (hopefully you'll all see that).

Of course I'll play more and see how it goes.

Again I'm probably a bit of a dweeb wanting the sliders for user and cpu similar where possible so I've tweaked your sliders Andrew to make the game a bit tougher. I would like the scrap to make the 8th seed to be very annoying and tough so I'm going to stick with a modified version of yours. Which are found below.

I have a question, dunno if it was answered before (15 sites ...)
Well what does the shot block slider really do ?
I thought, since theres a layup/dunk block slider, that the shot block one is for jumpers and such stuff.
But even on shot block slider at 90 I cannot block those post baby hooks ....

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that most players have a blocking ratin from 20-50, because I thought that "not I Stopper" are too strong even with sliders down ....

so does this shot block slider affect anything really ??

I have another request. Can somebody kindly explain to me what the following sliders do? I've never understood them.

- Boundary force field
- On-ball Defense Assist
- Fakeout Discipline
- On-ball Physical Defense

Thanks.

Boudary Force-Helps to keep your players from sliding out of bounds easily.

On Ball defense Assist-This kinda helps you stick to your man better defensively or stay in front him when he's making moves.

Fakeout-This determines how often your players go for fakes. Sometimes the CPU will pump fake and your man might actually leave his feet.

On Ball Physical Defense-This is mostly like how close your players will defend the CPU players. The higher this is set the more bumping you'll see on the court when players try to make a move. This also effects how often your players try to prevent easy layups in the paint.

In theory they determine the ease and frequency of successfully blocking shots and layups/dunks respectively.

^^^ If you dont start using better grammer, people will stop reading your posts. Reading that last just about made me throw up. As for your question, there is a guide in a sticky around here somewhere I think. I dont feel like finding it for you though.

Does anyone know if the dunk frequency slider affects the CPU's tendency to use (and abuse) its Highflyer and Power FSS abilities?

Slider question!!!!

"Adjusted shot-->Set the shooter’s ability when he is attempting an adjusted lay-up."

Is that right? It's not a fade away jumper? but a double clutch?

What is "adjusted shot"? :| :?: :?: :?: :?:

I don't think it does, I don't have the Dunk Frequency too high with my slider set and they still seem to go to it fairly frequently, about the same as the default setting.

Yes, an adjusted shot as far as NBA Live is concerned refers to a shot attempted when pressing the dunk/layup button again to change the shot in midair.

Andrew, are you still running sliders 1.0? I have had good success with my sliders but I'd like to give yours a try because they are realistic from past yrs.. :)

Yes, I'm still using v1.0 of my sliders. I haven't felt the need to make any changes yet but when I do I'll be sure to post them.

What record do you now have with the Bulls Andrew?

23-14 I believe you last said, is that with the 2006 cast?

Its been a long time since my last post in this forum. Andrew, this is a stupid question regarding the default sliders. Is it advisable to really tweak it or just leave it alone? I haven't tried any of the tweaked sliders available and have played the game as it is. The only stuff i adjusted are substitution, fatigue, and pro hop.

I think it's 26-16...haven't actually played a game for about a week so my memory's a bit fuzzy. I'm still in the 2006 season though I have an age-modified Shawn Kemp on my roster as well as Chuck Person. It's mostly the Bulls' 2006 roster though.

It's difficult to say. If you enjoy the game without a lot of slider tweaks, then by all means leave it as it is. But if you want a shot at realistic stats on 12 minute quarters or consider yourself a realism nut (like myself ;)) you'll probably want tweaked gameplay. It really depends on your tastes, what you want out of the game.

Ah, half way through. You did say you may tweek the sliders, I'm basically using a modified version of yours. Not modified too much but enough to make a difference.

You do seem to be overachieving with the Bulls team, ever thought about making some tough changes for the second half of the season? If you went 20 and 20 the rest of the way you you'd probably still make the playoffs (it's the East after all) and find a truer level.

Again, it's your game your playing so who am I to say anything.

One thing I noticed though was just how easy it was to get the ball of the cpu inbound under their basket by controlling just one guy. Late in games I started abusing this tactic and it brought me back from many certain losses. Reduced the interception to compensate.

Not really. The game isn't always going to work out to be completely true to life because a Dynasty game is kind of its own reality (the Blazers are somehow near the top of the West in my Dynasty, no idea how they've made that happen) and I'm sure I'll drop a few more games. If it gets to the point where it's really easy I might tweak for challenge but right now I'm enjoying the way it's unfolding.

Best Sliders???

Postby skilldude89 on Thu Jun 08, 2006 4:07 am

Who has the best/most challenging--realistic set of sliders??? Recommendations would be appreciated. I'm looking for All-Star/Hall of Fame. I'm playing regular xbox as well.

Thanks,
