Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

A couple of gameplay questions for the aussies.

Postby SHAFT23 on Wed Sep 21, 2005 8:33 am

The clips i saw contained a lot of personal fouls. I this gonna be annoying after a while in online games? It looks like all of the ratings of the players went up so that the game looks more arcadic and uptempo. okay, but that also makes it easier for them to get inside and get fouled. That is shitty to me.

And are the blocks toned down a lot or just a little? Give me an example with your own stats comparing to nba live 2005. For example.....

How many blocks did you average in live 2005. (every player should know how many they averaged per game)

I averaged 8,6 or something in that area in live 2005 online play. Against the pc on superstar i averaged about 12 orso.

thanks in advance

Yeah, the game is definetly my uptempo, there are a lot of fast breaks. And the yes, there are more fouls but im sure we could edit the game sliders to resolve these problems

The blocks have been toned down a fair bit. I average about 2 or 3 with Nenad. But i found that I got blocked a lot when going for a superstar dunk with Vince.

I would have averaged 8 or 9 with Nenad

nice, sounds better, except the fouling, but i guess the sliders can fix it.

The steals are fairly high, for really good stealers, and it takes a little getting used to to not give your opponent a tonne of steals. For me in my first game 7 min quarters, Lebron got 17 TO and Hughes got 9.

There are more fouls than last year, but i think its great, I used to get only like 2 free throws a game, now i get more realistic amounts. 10 - 20.

I get a lot of free throws in online nba live 2005.......and if the sliders were to go down , then you can just jump into a player every time on a break and nothing will happen and you end up getting an easy fast break or you end up getting fouled again. I think the fouls and the locks were pretty good in 2005, but i am the only person , i guess.

You can edit the players right? And since some players (like Salim) are missing are they in the FA pool? Or do you have to create them?

Steals aver very high...Iverson got 9 steals in my last EA online game (which is online 5 min quarters)

Blocks are hard to come by which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there could be even too few.

Blocks on default are set to 50 and it's hard to block (except with Ben & Rasheed Wallace). You might have to INCREASE the block slider if you don't have a shot blocker.

Fouls; well I'm not complaining. On fast breaks the other team will foul you and send you to the line. They'll also reach in which will give you a chance to blow by them in a half court set. If you go for steals you'll pick up a foul especially if you keep tapping the steal button, or you'll "lunge" for the ball and likely concede 2 points so you have to play tight defense.

I played against the Kings today and they kept running Peja off screens for deep 2 point shots. He only had 3 3point attempts. There's no 3 point hoisting in this game.

I've managed to tone down rebounds on the offensive end by making the OR rating 20 and the DR 95 for both teams.

that's what i found too, but as i've played more and more i know that you have to protect the ball. You can't just stand there with it or you'll get stripped. You have to hold the right analog down to protect the ball when your stationary. You passing has to be good too, any risky passes will get picked off. This though can be changed in the sliders so don't fuss.

No one should change the sliders for that..they shouldn't be dumbasses and watch basketball. You have to protect the ball 100% and make perfect passes. The reason you think it's so easy is because most NBA players have gotten good at all that..and you don't see it as much. Over time you will actually get good at that sort of stuff.

I haven't started playing with the sliders yet as I'm still getting a feel for the game as it is straight out of the box. So far I'm of the opinion slider tweaks are in order but not quite as much as last year. It plays a lot better out of the box than NBA Live 2005.

How do you make a perfect pass when the computer decides whether you will throw a chest pass or a lob pass? From the videos I've seen, the lob passing looks incredibly slow and very open for interception, not to mention some lob passes shouldn't be made when you want to pass it around the three point areas.
