okay i just thought of something.....

It says that the freestyle superstars thing uses a trigger button.....what button could be left on the ps2 joypad?

for instance i have:

L2 as icon pass/switch
L1 as backdown/post up/defensive stance
R1 as turbo
R2 as alley-oop

now where does the freestyle come in. it means i have to give up one of these moves or attributes

Turbo is out of the question ofcourse, backdown is pretty effective and so is defensive stance for people who know how to play on ball defense. That leaves alley-oop which can be used pretty often from what i have seen in the movies of the fast breaks in live 06 and then we have the icon switch and pass and these are out of the quiestion for me, because the cpu passes the ball like an ass when i dont use the icon passing.

maybe im overlooking something here, but one of these things has to go , right?

peace out

i think they are taking icon pass out, because L1 will be freestyle ss and postup is being oved to l2

I'm pretty sure L1 will be the freestyle superstar button. I think EA moved the backdown/defensive stance to the right analog stick so that when you position / point the right analog stick down, you backdown or get into a defensive stance. kinda annoying :?

i swear to god if they take out the icon pass, im not buying nba live 2006

with back down i mean : turning and posting up. This is very usefull in 2005 with the better inside forces like Shaq and Duncan and even when you are Billups against Boykins for instance. It will be a major waste of time for me to play live 06 if they remove the icon passing/ switching, cause then you lose a part of the game you really can control. Lets say when you get the full court press and you dont have the icon pass. you just nd up getting turnovers over and over at midcourt or something. Silly shit.

Even though this picture is for the X-Box, it illustrates what I was trying to say about the right analog stick being used for back down.

I would think it would be the same for PS2. As you can see in the pic, "Direct Pass" is still available.

The next pic shows the right analog stick being used for "Defensive Stance / Box-Out".

Hope this helps. :D

i understand now what you mean, but that is some fucked up shit, cause when a player is on the move with the ball in 2005 you have the option to backdown and post or protect the ball AND you have the option to step back by pressing down the analog(right)

now the step back is gone? WTF????? i guess we just have to wait and see how it works in the game. :?

L1 is freestyle SS, icon pass is still in there, backdown is down on the right analogue stick.
