Widescreen Support..?

I can already tell by seeing both the Madden and NFL series this year not having widescreen support that NBA wont have one either and i just have to wonder WHY IN THE HELL EA? this has gone on long enough. cant you see widescreen is becoming more the norm and the furture of displays? i mean, why century are these developers in anyway? if they wont add it why not just make it easier for us to add in with notepad somehow..Is this really too much to ask for?

Or maybe for one of their patches...because they would only add something small like this in their patch...

I don't know about this years Madden, but I think Madden 2003 for pc had widescreen support (consoles, maybe not). But I expected Live to not have widescreen, since there don't look like a lot of changes have been made, but I was just checking out some newer xbox shots and they definitely are in widescreen (for gameplay, menus are 4:3 with black boarders).

The widescreen shots are in the Beta screenshots. There's a lot of frontend screens, so you have to search through to see the gameplay pics (the last [few from 9/18/05 show the Raptors playing).

Haven't checked to see if there are any pc previews in widescreen, but I'm more hopeful that it might be supported.
