Hold the left trigger and press A: Fake Pass and Shoot
Free yourself up for a jumper by faking your opponent out of his kicks and into the air. If the defender doesn't fall for the fake, however, your window of opportunity to take the shot decreases as the defenders become increasingly expectant of the shot the more you fake.

Hold the left trigger and press Y: Bank Shot
Think Tim Duncan is money with the bank, now it's your turn. The thing is, you will not be able to hit the bank from all angles on the floor, so know your spot (and your geometry). There are areas on the floor where calling for the bank is just as good as calling for a turnover, but shoot from 45-degrees and your bank will turn into a high-percentage shot that will go in more often than not.

Hold the left trigger and press B: Set Shot
A quick release that shooters can pull off from close quarters, with time winding down, and in offensive sets. Watch out for defenders running at you, though, as your lack of elevation for the shot can lead to a big block if your opponent times it right.

Hold the left trigger and press X: Hold Your Follow Through
The longer you hold the left trigger, the longer you hold your follow through. Think Gee Money in New Jack City for the ultimate hold your hands in the air shot. If you're going to taunt your opponent with this shot, make sure you sink it, otherwise you might be a bit slow to get back on D.

I love the Follow Through thing, this is what real shooters are all about. If you notice peja he does this 99.99% of the time that's why he is such a good shooter.

Review vs Marketing

Postby ignatu on Tue Aug 23, 2005 5:31 am

Sites like IGN are marketing the game rather than previewing it. Their coverage amounts to nothing more than a series of NBA Live 06 commercials.

Don't get me wrong. The info about the superstars is good info, and it looks like a good feature. But what about other parts of the game? IGN and other sites just keep highlighting superstar moves.
