The Obvious Main Reason No New NBA Live 06 news...

Madden... plain and simple. once it comes out tomorrow and all the reviews come out, EA will finally let out more Live info (probably in like 4 days)

NBA Live on the other hand is revamping graphics (at least up a small notch) and adding mad new features lol... NCAA '06 > Madden '06.. dont believe the hype

my god Madden 2006 has this "Superstar Mode" in which you make 1 person become a superstar.. crazy stuff that Live should have... should read on it..

Madden will be good and just like it always is, it will be the best ea game of the year. As Andrew has said many times, Live has a good base to work with that needs improvements. Example: Dynasty needs to be enhamced with more options and features like coaching staff similar to Maddens, and mid-level exceptions..etc, they added freestyle control, player evolution and better graphics. Madden will still be better than Live but just like you, I hope to read more info about Live 06. And it better be GOOD stuff.

No the reason both these games (Live 06, Madden 06) are so "bad" to some people is because EA is devoting all the big-time improvments to the next-gen games.

I suppose EA would like to prolong the hype and keep up the suspense for as long as possible before the release. We can only speculate.

I don't know squat about the American Football, but I just might get the game to see how much further ahead Madden is when compared to Live and see how that Superstar mode really works.

If Live would have a superstar mode, well that would be so sweet... You could add yourself or more likely an improved version of you to the game and take it from there. It would be a dream come true, but it won't be in Live 06...

I hope by trying Madden out, I'll get a sneak peak into what to expect of NBA Live in the near future. I hope...

Dude Madden is PERFECT. They got the gameplay worked out and their graphics is far better than NBA Live, their dynasty mode (Owner mode) is about 500% more deeper, their commentary is alright and now they added the new Superstar mode which is just icing on the cake. And thats why they get so much attention.

I'm sorry but Madden has changed its game significantly every year, something the Live series have failed to do. Madden already has a superior dynasty mode, and even though they have a MONOPOLY they decide to make a superstar mode? To say that Madden ONLY added a superstar mode is non-sense. Look at it this way...since NBA Live released anything significant? No, all we have is VERY few changes to dynasty mode and this superstar freestyle which will only make the game more arcadey. Madden also has a vision cone/precision passing mechanic which changes the game significantly. Not to mention it's AI is one of the finest in the sports genre. Whereas NBA Live AI is poor compared to it. They messed up playcalling, wtf?! When have Madden been cursed with poor playcalling? Yes, football is a game with more coaching decisions and playcalling, but still, NBA Live always seems incomplete compared to Madden. Also, Madden quite frankly doesn't need to change much. It's already a MUCH better simulation of the NFL than NBA Live is a simulation of the NBA.

Yes, Madden will get most of EA's promotions this time of the year, but quite frankly, it deserves it. It has earned it. I don't even like football that much but I play it! That's how good it is!

If EA really wants to cater to a wider audience, or create new fans, they should really look into changing up development teams that haven't been going at the pace that Madden has.

It's really fucked up that madden comes up 2 monthes before nba. Not mentionin' that ea puts a lot more emphasis on madden.

You guys want to change the development team??? You gotta be crazy... I don't want to go another year without an NBA Live release for the PC and I certainly don't want to see the Live 2003 all over again, that was just bad...

Clearly the difference between the NBA and Madden series is funding... Madden is getting more cash and thus can maintain a larger working force and thus they can do more in a year than the NBA team. I have good faith that the NBA team does what they can in the time they are given.

I do know and can say that the NBA team does actually concentrate on the wrong things, but I also understand why they add glitz and glamour to the game every year... It's the eye candy and the glitz that sells the game... Making some minor improvements to the dynasty mode will not sell many more copies of the game since "average joe" does not know what they even mean and what they do effect. EA has to sell the game and you can't sell "New improved AI" and "Added mid-level exception to dynasty mode" texts to the wider audience... They need to have "All-Star weekend" and "Ray Allen actually pours some sweat when he plays"... Those they can sell... Those are titles that actually could lure new users to buy the game...

NBA should get more love (money) from EA... They would catch up more quickly and would be able to be more creative...

Sept 26 is just less than 50 days and both VC & EA will definitely give all their best this year and there is ONLY 1 WINNER, all of us (gamers)..

Well Madden 06 was finally released. Lots of people are complaining about the game already. Ones are saying that you can't turn off the vision cone and that it's really a turn offs. Some are complaining about the Franchise being the same as last year and crap. Others are fuzzing about the Supermode being far from perfect, but at least it's something new, what new do we have in Live? not much. Anyways, the Madden community is critizing the game as much as we critized Live over here.
