Question about multi-talented stars

Postby iCeMaN3K on Sat Jul 23, 2005 5:49 am

I'll use T-Mac as an example. He can dunk, shoot 3's, score, whatever you want. I saw you can only make it so he has one superstar attribute at a time though. So say you make him a High Flier. Does that mean he'll suck at shooting 3's, or scoring of any other type until you change him? Or say you make him a shooter. Does that mean he won't be able to throw down nasty dunks given the chance wide open?

well, first i think you misunderstood the usage of freestyle superstar...
like they said ' hold the left trigger and press a button to perform variety of manuevers '...

high flier for example : drive the lane, hold the left trigger and windmill or other dunks which you are allow to choose...
for non-highflier : drive the lane, just press dunk button to preform a random dunk.

as for shooter, i believe there are a few type of shots, like what they call 'set shot'..., err 'fake pass and layup' something like that...

if you make T-Mac a high flier, it means you could drive the lane, hold the left trigger and windmill or other dunks which you are allow to choose... that doesn't mean make him sucks at shooting...

well, this is base on my opinion...
i might be wrong. :P

I think he will still do all that but he wont be able to use freestyle moves that are assosiated with shooting 3's and others that are not selected for a game.

Ok, thanks for clearing this up. I was worried that the freestyle stuff was going to make McGrady, Bryant, James, ect way to one demensional.

I have an answer. T-mac has more than one superstar classification and you can choose one of them when the game start. you can choose that in one game T-mac will be a high flyer, while in the other game he will be a scorer. this is great, isn't it? no more problem. :D

So I assume defence isn't an issue to you to? .. I guess Ea was right to not adding defence at all then.

It's not that defense is a non-issue to me. If say Artest is guarding McGrady then yea, he should be somewhat toned down. But I was just asking mainly if they are sucking at everything else if you got them at another superstar type.
