Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

will there be nba live 06 demo for any system at all ?
Fri May 27, 2005 5:02 pm
No word yet, but it's still too early to say for sure either way. At the moment, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a demo, as there hasn't been one the last couple of years. Like most people, I'm hoping there is one though.
Fri May 27, 2005 5:13 pm
I wonder why they don't make a demo?
Fri May 27, 2005 9:58 pm
well for sports games, developers only have a year give or take a month to complete a title. from all the miniscule things such as beads of sweat to gameplay mechanics there is probably little time to get a demo up and working before the date the game needs to go gold. i think they'd rather get the product finished on time before the nba season starts before worrying about things like demos, albeit im not gonna complain if there was one. case in point - doom 3 didnt have a proper demo until a month or so after its release

That's true, but I'm still have my fingers crossed waiting for one.

I kinda want to see how it will be on the normal consoles first. All ive heard is it will be a launch title for Xbox360.

a demo would help me determin whether or not to get Live.

Even more reason for them not to make a demo.. forcing you to buy it then trying to return it when the game ends up not working.

But then again if they released a demo and left out a bunch of features that would be even more reason to buy it....u know what i mean

Good point. Can you imagine having a demo of Live05 last year without knowing what the dunk contest was like and the "Slam Dunk Mode" button was dull?
Sat Jun 04, 2005 3:21 pm
Agreed. Even if some of the surprises are spoiled, I think it would feed our anticipation for the new game rather than kill it.

This is why I want a demo released.

Andrew,
Hi do u have any of the player ratings yet?
Thu Jul 07, 2005 7:40 pm
No I don't. I doubt the ratings would be finalised this early anyway.
Thu Jul 07, 2005 7:45 pm
hmmm... If they do make a demo.. they would probably not have all the Freestyle Superstar types available.
On the topic of demo, I was always wondering... with database and graphics editing and all... would it be possible to expand on a demo?
Thu Jul 07, 2005 7:47 pm
If they're going to limit anything, it would probably be the teams you can select, the quarter length and the modes you can play. If the demos of yesteryear are anything to go by, my guess is 5 minute quarter exhibition games with the Spurs and Pistons.

forget a demo, i mean it's already july boys and october isn't far away. i'd rather they spend that demo time improving the franchise mode.
Sat Jul 23, 2005 10:19 pm
I think they will do a demo, because the videos and all that are about Phoenix and Miamy. I think the demo will be Phoenix VS Miamy.
Sun Jul 24, 2005 1:09 am
If there would be a demo, it would be Pistons vs. Spurs..

What do You want demo? I don't know what other EA american sports demos are, or if they exists, but if the demo is like the EA FIFA's franchise demos, it's better NBA Live don't have it. I mean, playing a single game in a short quarter lenght with only 2 teams doesn't add too much to a videogamer's desire of buying and playing a good game. For certain kind of games (like sportgame franchises) a demo doesn't add anything.

if demo already attracts me, ill buy for sure
that's the good of demo

It gives an indication of what the gameplay will be like and teases various features. I don't see how that wouldn't affect a gamer's decision to buy the game or not.

Important question to all!
Would you still purchase the game if the demo sucks?
Sun Jul 24, 2005 4:00 pm
I'd wait for the review.
Sun Jul 24, 2005 4:00 pm
i'm more interested in the dynasty mode, and i don't think they'll include the dynasty mode int he demo, so i still have to buy it to find out, IF there's a demo.
