Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

i see your point. Here is what i think.
Kwame brown should have a lower FG, inside scoring, offence awareness, offensive rebounding, and defensive rebounding.
Eddy Curry should have a lower FG, inside scoring, and offence awareness. He plays like shaq in the game.
Drew Gooden should have a lower offence awareness
Joe smith has 15 foot range at least.

OK, I'll consider those for the next update.

if possible can you increase brand's shooting range from 13 to say.. 15-18? he even hit a 3 the other day
o and get rid of his headband too while your at it.. thx

If you don't like him dunking so much in game (I agree, he isn't a huge in-game dunker), then just disable his highflying in the Freestyle Superstar options. That way, he can still participate in the dunk contest, but won't be posterizing you as much in real games. Robinson's in-game dunking abilities would still be exxagerrated, but this is the best solution that I can think of.
I also noticed that Bruce Bowen's stealingwere extremely overrated at 80. Like Bibby and Terry, I think this is another example of a player being overrated for the sake of having another Freestyle Superstar. Bowen is a lockdown defender, but he doesn't get that many steals.

Eddy Curry's FG rating is already low enough at 60. I do agree though that his Inside Scoring is a bit overrated at 82 (the same as some All-Stars). According to 82games.com he's only hitting 51% of his shots in the paint that aren't dunks, which doesn't compare very well to other post scorers. Still, he's a good inside scorer, and I don't think his rating should be decreased by very much (high 70s at most).

Can do.
Thanks for the latest.

it is just funny how someone who has dunked 3 times total in the nba season, and takes the guy 15 tries each to get a dunk to go down in the slam dunk contest is having people request him to be a highflyer. That just doesnt sound right. With this logic, Chris Anderson should be a highflyer.

It's also a by-product of his ratings, which have been increased to change the default participants in the dunk contest. I can always change his DUNKPACK.

I know you get this nitpicking, but I've got a couple of points.
Both Howard, and McDyess shoot the medium range ball often and well. Perhaps consider raising their range?
Nash's primacy constantly changes the scoring of PHX. His should be lowered, and perhaps increase the players around him (ie Marion, Boris, Bell)
Melo's three point shot is lacklustre, but he's been dropping the mid-range shot extremely often. (ie Those buzzer beaters) I know his range is already maxed, so perhaps you could tinker with his scoring area? I'm not sure.
EDIT: Morris Peterson's three point shot is money in the bank. However, he bricks ever attempt in Live. Please check it out.
Thanks.

I always do lower it, though perhaps it could go a bit further. Please understand that this area is very difficult to control because there are a lot of problems with the simulation/stats engine and only so much can be achieved.

Darko is for real...29 blocks in 12 outings!...i hope you give him some ups in D!
Tue Mar 21, 2006 2:00 pm
I've noticed that, I agree his blocking can come up.

Mark Blount is a descent jump shooter for NBA and he can even shoot from 20 feet but in the game there is no chance to make even a 15-16 feet jump shot with him, because his range is only 13 with 50 in FG rating. I think both attributes need some improvement.
One more suggestion is about Justin Reed. Recently he is getting important minutes in Minnesota line up and as i see he can jump shoot, so he deserves a better FG rating than 43. (His range is fair in the game) Also it should be fair if he gets some fatigue rating points. (only 20 in the game)
Lastly Marcus Banks's passing (62) and FG rating (58) is a little bit low for a point guard like him who has an average jump shoot.

Noted.

HEY ANDREW,
I WENT THROUGH THE ENTIRE PLAYERS DATA BASE AND OVERALL YOU HAVE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB WITH THE SHOOTING RANGES AND SECONDLY, THESE ROSTERS ARE VERY GOOD; I HAVE MADE MINIMUM CHANGES TO IT!
So YOU GET A BIG A+ FOR THESE ROSTERS BUDDY.

Thanks Blacksmurf, appreciate the kind words.

That said, I'm sure it could be better so anything I've missed, any suggestions or corrections, keep 'em coming.

sorry i didnt know about this thread.. anyways
I was playing with the Suns recently and noticed Barbosa's three point ratings were only 68. Currently he's shooting 46% (wow!) from down town and was wondering if you could adjust his three point ratings for the next roster. Also, I believe Steve Nash mentioned the fact that Barbosa is one of the fastest player in the NBA. Not in terms of quickness but in speed, you think you could adjust that too? thanks, Andrew
Also, Tim Thomas has been shooting 40% since joining the Suns.
Steve Nash is a big reason for their success however i think they still desrve some boost in their ratings.
And some other players' ratings i think needs to be adjusted..
Tracy Mcgrady - yeah hes a great player but I think his three point shooting is ridiculous. He's shooting around 30% and he has like a 82 three point rating.
Most Rockets perimeter players' three point shooting - theyre all shooting around 30% and they have pretty high ratings. (ie Alston n Wesley)
Rockets are the most overrated team. Clearly they suck this season, yet they maintain their ratings from the beginning of the season. (when most considered them to be contenders)
Eddie Jones n Bobby Jackson - worthy canidate for defensive stoppers.
Delonte West - his dribbling rating
Kwame Brown - Possible defensive stopper hes been tearing it up the last two months (really picked it up after mihm went down) He really deserves defensive stopper as hes one of the better low post defender
Lamar Odom - Possible Inside Scorer, hes unstoppable when shooting in the paint. He just doesnt post up as used to but when he does hes very good.
Tayshaun Prince - he guards most players on the perimeter. Instead of inside defensive stopper, i think he should be outside defensive stopper. He guards all the best SGs in the league starting from Kobe to Mcgrady.
Mike James - I believe someone already mentioned him but he definitely deserves a boost in rating
JOSH SMITH - shooting 37% from the three point line. Developed a decent jumpshot too. should get atless 70 for three point shooting. He's also been playing artest-like defense against smaller guards. I think he warrants a outside defesive stopper.
thanks Andrew for the hardwork on the roster APPRECIATE IT!,

umm.. i guess you you really havent watched the hawks lately
anyways, found something interesting about Gerald Wallace,
one of the ESPN guy described his game like this,
"Yet the Bobcats forward has played at an All-Star level this year, shooting 53.7 percent thanks to his explosive finishing skills off the wing. And defensively, he's turning into the second coming of Andrei Kirilenko. Wallace currently leads the league in steals and ranks 10th in blocked shots. If he keeps it up, it would make him one of just a handful of players in league history to finish a season ranked in the top 10 in both categories."
Sat Mar 25, 2006 11:01 am
Agreed, Wallace's blocking and stealing ratings in particular do need to come up.
Sat Mar 25, 2006 11:53 am
chris wilcox has been tearing up ever since he got traded to the sonics
sorry to bother you andrew this should be my last input thanks
Sat Mar 25, 2006 11:56 am
yer think he'll finish the year averaging plus 2 steals and 2 blocks, only the 4th player in league history to do so
Andrew can u have a look at the Warriors Monta Ellis. His minutes have increased alot in the past couple months and hes showed alot.Hes lightening quick, hits the 3 consistently and is prolly the warrors best on ball defender
thanks
oh and agreed on Darko, hes giving Orlando a massive D presence inside.Good to see the kid get a chance
Sat Mar 25, 2006 12:45 pm
No problem, I'll look at them, too.
