NBA Live 2006 Wishlist Submitted!

Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Postby Koo Shadows on Sun Feb 27, 2005 9:37 pm

I agree with a lot of wishes here:

My main beef is the fast break thing. Who slows down when a fast break is occurring...it needs to be realistic.

I always miss alley-oop dunks or regular breakaway dunks and it's annoying.

I tend to always get outrebounded on the offensive glass even though I spend 7200 points for a rebounding coach.

More dunks....like some that can be used in the Slam Dunk contest should be utilized in an actual game...preferably the between the legs jam...I'm sure Kobe, LeBron, Vince, JRich, T-Mac, Josh Smith, Francis, Desmond Mason, and Fred Jones could do this one on a breakaway.

While the jerseys are cool, more alternate and throwback jerseys would be nice...like the powder blue MPLS Lakers jersey, the other Sonics jerseys worn in the days of GP and Shawn Kemp

A better variety of Reebok and Adidas footwear. Make sure the Jordan XX make an appearance.

What I liked about 2003 was the coach's reaction to certain plays...better player reactions would be nice...maybe some high-fiving or some showboating would be funny to see.

Technical fouls should be called too...

The Fights!

Postby Allstargamer10 on Wed Mar 02, 2005 12:51 am

I don't get it. Why are there fights in NHL 2005 and all those other NHL games, but there cannot be any in the LIVE games. What's up with that?

The NBA forbids the inclusion of fights in games such as NBA Live.

lol... A team of Shane Battier, Grant Hill and Ray Allen would kill a team of Kevin Garnett, Samuel Dalembert and Allen Iverson in a game of maths.

I would want the next NBA Live to include a play diagram so u can actually know what the plays do. also more plays in playbook and possibly ability to create plays.
plays are one of the most important thing in basketball.

The most important thing NBA LIVE 2006 should have is a better Dynasty mode and a more intelligent AI would be great too  (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y)
NBA Live 2003 is the best game ever made.

The lists you guys have made are comprehensive and awesome. I agree with most of what you guys are saying...

I've addressed this in another thread (http://www.nbaliveforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=23021) and I'm not sure how widely this idea has been discussed here but I'd like to run it by you all and see if you guys have discussed it much or whatever...

I've pined over an option where you could start with a team say in 1985 and then the draft classes come year by year as they did in real life. That to me would be the ultimate NBA fans game... if it got a bit boring or you were having a bad season you could look forward to drafting one of your favourite players in the upcoming draft class. That would be the ultimate dynasty mode.

1991 for example - you may think that Billy Owens isnt worth the number 3 pick... Dikembe may be a better fit.

Obviously this isn't easy to make, and there would be bugs regarding how do you determine where players are drafted by the CPU and what years they retire... but to me... to any NBA fan who has loved the game for 5+ years this would be AWESOME!

Maybe 1985 is too far back. That's fair enough. Maybe 1995 is a good year because that's when the NBA Live name came into play

Im my opinion, If this was possible this option would RULE!

You've already posted a topic about that.

I'd like to see technical fouls (by coaches) when there are very flagrant fouls and when they aren't whistled. Plus I'd like to have every tool editor directly in the game, it'd be nice ! With headshape editor, cyberface editor, database editor... I'd really like to see that ! :)

Hey, has anyone noticed that the NBA LIVE 2004 graphics is way better than 2005's? Why won't they change that because it's blurry in 2005? By the way Andrew, are you still sending wishlists because I have one?

I don't actually send in individual wishlists, I just compile one long list and submit it to the producers. The "official" wishlist was submitted back in January, but if you'd like to post your list in this section of the forum, there's a very good chance the producers will get to read it. ;)

I love that idea, but only as a small feature, not at the expense of other features, and since it probably takes a lot of work to make this, I doubt EA will do it. Hehe, how cool wouldn't it be to shock the world by drafting MJ at number 1, only to see him become the greatest ever :D

Here is my wishlist:

Way better graphics (Like Live 2004, but a little better than that)
Owner mode in dynasty mode
Dynasty mode is like Madden 2005
Real free throw rituals
More animations after big plays and celebrations
Bring back a lot of those cut scenes
Fix bugs
Realistic courts and jerseys
More throw back jerseys
Improved dynasty mode
Better allstar weekend
Technical fouls and flagrant fouls
Ejections
Suspensions
Coaches get ejected
Hire/ fire coaches
Reversable referree calls
Players argue with refs and get a technical (say like if you keep pressing on O to try to reverse call but it ends up backfiring, it's like challenging a call in Madden except you only lose a timeout.)
More dunks in game
Skills challenge in allstar weekend
Michael Jordan and other legends in game
Updated rosters and end date for rosters is closer like September, not August
Way better create a player (like more hair styles, colors, and facial hair and make it like 2004 and 2003)
Players have multiple hair styles like Ben Wallace could braid or have a fro
Introductions to both teams and more exciting environment
Sponsors like TNT, Gatorade, ESPN, and etc.
5 second back to court rule
Pre game show, half time show, and post game show
In dynasty mode while you play, you can see the scores of other games pop out at the bottom of the screen
Create a team, create an arena, create a dunk, create a jersey
Include players in game, even if they did not play once that year (like Glenn Robinson)
Three way trades, and could trade more than 3 players at once
Trading block
Could trade future draft picks for the next 2 or 3 years
Custom tracks
2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, 4 vs 4, and even 5 vs 5 street mode
Computers do more trades in dynasty mode (I only see once every 3 years by computer to computer)

One thing that has been nagging me ever since live 2004 and now with 2005 is how when the defensive player fronts the ball carrier, the ball carrier would get bumped back and stopped if he tried to drive the basket, that just makes no sense. And this feels so much more prevalent after playing ESPN 2k5 on my friend's ps2. I mean, you shouldn't be able to go around anyone and everyone with anyone but those with the right speed should be able to drive past the defender if the defence decides to play tight. Ratings that would affect the ability to defend this is, defensive awareness. This would in turn make the 1 on 1, 2 on 2 games much more fun to play, not the boring stuff now, where all you do is bump them.

On a related note, players should only be able to defend/cover what's in front of them unless they are good defenders. Such as, if the defending team's PF/C are busy with their respective assignments with their side/back to the lane and the fast ball carrier manages to drive down the lane and go for the dunk, there should be no way for the PF or C to suddenly shift over and cover/stop the dunk.

Here is my wishlist.

1)When ever someone on the court does something really good or like makes some fake out. The team bench should jump up and clap or like go crazy
2)They should make it so injuries can limit how long a player can stay in the NBA before retiring. I had yao Ming get 28 injuries in his whole career and he still played 18 seasons.
3)Have technical fouls.
4)have some people get trash talking and get ejected
5)Have at the end of the game. Play of the game.
6)Maybe if EA gets enough time. Make it first person B-ball. That would be so cool. So you can see what the Player sees.

Why didn't they put Michael Jordan in NBA LIVE 2005? Did they focus on the all star weekend so much that they forgot about the graphics, legends, more game modes, and a better dynasty mode? (N)

Jordan just retired in 2003, so he wasn't in the retired players association, therefore they didn't have the rights to put him in.

The legends situation has already been explained, but I don't know what other game modes NBA Live needed in NBA Live 2005 - the additional game modes were the All-Star Weekend side games. And considering that Dynasty Mode was rebuilt from the ground up with all kinds of additions made, I'd say it was improved over NBA Live 2004. There's still things that can be done, but it's on its way up.
