But the slider (at least the CPU one) is crap. As Charles Barkley would put it: "It's crap, Kenny. It don't work. It's like staying in shape after retiring from the NBA. It just don't work. I mean, look at you..." :D

To Andrew. I simply wished to explain that each my game comes to an end with break in 20 and more points.

Fri Apr 21, 2006 7:29 pm

If each your game comes to an end with break in 20 and more points then your finding the game to easy or too hard.

If you are +20 points put the game on a harder level, what level do you play on? Rookie, All Star etc?

Fri Apr 21, 2006 7:50 pm

I see. Well as has already been suggested, raise the difficulty or tweak the sliders so it's more challenging, such as lowering your FG sliders and raising the CPU's FG sliders.

Level - superstar
Short - 33
Medium- 35
Long-37
CPU - 33-34-35

That's lower than I've suggested for the CPU sliders. You could try raising them up around 40 so they'll have the advantage.

I have changed Adjusteg Shoot to -20 to all and has received realistic result.

Good to hear. If a particular slider set doesn't work for you, you might find a couple of further tweaks here and there get the job done. I can't guarantee my sliders will work for everyone, but hopefully most people can achieve the results they desire with a change here and there to suit their skill level and style of play.

I use Playmakers sliders on both level's. On Superstar I just drop the shooting ranges down to 34-38-42 for both me and CPU. Also, if you try to steal all the time you will get reach in fouls called. Plug in his playbooks for the CPU and the games play very good.

I haven't played much myself on Superstar level but maybe I'll give those settings a try and see how they work with my sliders. I've always been a huge fan of All-Star level because then the CPU player ratings don't go through the roof as much as Super Star level. I like to stay close as possible to the ratings for players.

Level: All-Star/Press Box View -2 clicks from DEFAULT Camera/Shot Control Optional

Assign High Pressure Defense to all PF's and C's for both CPU and Human players. You have to take control of the CPU at the start of games to set their Pressure defense then switch over to your team before the tip off.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 8:53 am

how can we use the sliders for online play?

Tue Apr 25, 2006 6:33 pm

Does anyone notice the players glide too much? Using Andrews sliders I've noticed I can pull up for a 3 with a player such as Gordon and a center comes flying out and his momentum pushes Gordon another two feet out. It's like Gordon is on roller skates.

No foul is called and the shot is missed. Shouldn't this be a foul and Gordon fall over (unless he is on roller skates after all)?

Tue Apr 25, 2006 7:55 pm

Nothing my sliders do should have increased that phenomenon.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 7:57 pm

Anyone plz tell me how can i edit the sliders for online play.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 8:37 pm

I don't think you can (at least not to the same extent or through EASO), but I admit I'm not an expert on online play.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 9:06 pm

I want to do it for my league. Maybe editing one of the dbf files. There must be set sliders somewhere.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 9:14 pm

Hi Andrew,

Sorry I didn't mean it increased it, all I meant is i've just got this game and have only started playing. I used your sliders as the 2005 ones were excellent.

Have you, or anyone else noticed this weird sliding? It didn't exist in 2005.
2005 so far appears to play a little better.

You've already asked that several times now. Please be patient, I'm sure someone who plays online more often will be able to answer your question once they're online. There is no need to keep posting the question over and over every time a new post is made.

Sliders are saved along with the other settings. They are not stored in dbf files.

Well i've played some match with playmaker's sliders and this is what i've noticed (from major to minor):

- high FG% especially opponent team;
- few in-air collision fouls, in consequence there are few FT;
- generally few fouls;
- opponent teams rules on offensive reb.;
- too many turnovers.

that's my impression....by the way i like this sliders for its quite realistic stats...

I have found that most of those problems can be with the same solution: become better at playing the game. For example:

- high FG% especially opponent team;
learn to stick on your man better and to contest all jump shots, its all about timing there
- few in-air collision fouls, in consequence there are few FT;
learn how to draw fouls. I have worked on it, and can get to the lin 12-14 times a game with some guys.
- generally few fouls;
as I said before, learn to draw fouls, and maybe play more aggressive defense, which will probably raise foul levels, and help decrease the opponent FG%
- opponent teams rules on offensive reb.;
This is as simple as learning to box out using the analog stick, and timing your jump. It really helps if you dont try to block every shot, because you get caught out of position. Also, it is alomst impossible to grab a rebound when you are underneat the cylindar.
- too many turnovers.
Take better care of the ball. Sounds like you need to be a little more aggressive on defense, and a little more conservative on offense.

Those are all minor tweaks man. If you want more fouls increase the In Air Collision to 80-100 and make sure you are setting the defensive pressure to high like he mentioned for all PF's and C's. Turnovers are apart of the game otherwise just lower the steal and interception slider down to like 20/20. As for offensive rebounding this can't be solved unless you personally get better on your own and that's with any slider set because EA screwed up the offensive rebounding in this game.

His playbooks also help to make the game better and chances are you probably never set the CPU Playbook up either because they will attack the basket and draw many fouls from what I've witnessed.
