Wow...a fiancee...congratulations, paradizecityz!
I haven't been posting in a bit myself...I just finished with my Software Development final and learned something really cool.. so I applied it to some back end code to the Birdie Board... cut the code down to about 20 lines...AND it'll make things in the future run nicer... not that this stuff really interest anybody except for perhaps Toaster.

Paradize, I'll do a shout out for you as soon as I get that Team MVP pic...I replied to your email!

 liveGMC.com/Birdie Update!

 Paradizecityz submits his mid-season stats! Check out his results at:

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic32489.php

...with that in mind, we have yet ANOTHER new leader on the board!
(as I'm a bit sleepy...I'll be updating that on the first post this weekend)

:!: It seems like my Photoshop request thread is picking up steam too! Check that out at:

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic32374.php

This weekend, I very much will dedicate a good 10 hours of solid programming trying my best to make some headway on some mini-projects to improve your Dynasty experience. Heiks mentioned some stuff on 'page one' and there's some things that I've been just tossing back and forth.

...anybody else ready to submit their pstat?

with paradizecityz doing such a great job...I guess this is a better time than ever to re-introduce the:

Birdie Board Hall of Fame

...I've been collecting people's stats for two years now, I basically just wanted a way to combined everybody's rankings into an 'Almighty Birdie Board'

...so paradizecityz's last entry put him #15 on the All Time List!

If you view the board, you'll see some great Dynastie's...like Heiks 2005 dynasty, Micchy Boy's, and aisixers3's still running Dynasty!

More to come in time...plus check out the cool headshots that Colin has made for your Team MVPs!

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic32374.php

Looking forward to more stats...and Null17 if you're reading this...you should be submitting something soon!

Although as most know, I was certified in SUN's Java...I actually find Java way too much overhead for not enough output. As the company that I work for has an intense foundation on Perl...and due to fact that I enjoy programming in it and I'm taking my Software Development courses in it...liveGMC.com is all Perl...

jxuusa... ...looking forward to your stats! ...and you're right, it's tough to get a hard to get a high score, with my submissions I just do my best and evaluate my stats and see what Penalties I can reduce from submission to submission and adjust my sliders accordingly and hopefully my rank goes up.

Yeh, I'm really curious what happened to Micchy as he was so dedicated to his dynasty. I think what happens is that some Dynasters get SOOOOO involved that they burn themselves out. It happens quite often.

...right now I'm currently deep into some code for the breakdown section and you should see the results come tomorrow. More Updates then!

Yes, you're right Perl in comparison to Java is straightforward... the commands do way they look like... to print "Hello World" in Perl->1 line...in java 5 lines.... I would say, Perl wins in liveGMC.com's case.

If you want to get things done, Perl is the way to go. If you worry about portability, Object-Oriented programming, and constantly having to think the consequences for every frickin action, Java is your man!

...update tonight...after I play a game of Live!

:!: Dynasty submission update!
Demonator just submitted his stats, check out his Birdie Board shout-out at:

ixcuincle also submitted his stats, check out his shout-out at:

:!: liveGMC.com update!!
So after hours of programming, the Penalty Box has squeezed and streamlined itself, in order to make way for the Dynasty's stat leaders!

Image
(yes, yes, I know the color scheme is mismatching for now, but at least I got the section up and running!)

So very very awesome! I've been wanting to offer that probably since 2004 but I guess it required an '05-'06 Christmas break to make it all real-time! So, for any of you vets who've already submitted your stats, go check that area out!

...much much more to do though. With that, It's 12:07 am and I'm BEAT!

:D Awesome! Well, Happy new year to everybody from the liveGMC.com crew...It's been a busy time on this side trying to clean up some code for the Live Card headshots and since that was my weakest project on the site, I'm really trying to get that up to speed with the rest of the updates.

:D In a week, my advance software development class starts and we dive into Complex Data Structures. My first instructor did me a favor and rewrote my foundation code that was just aweful and legacy so it'd be more in tune with this upcoming class. Unfortunately, I keep putting it off so that's my little liveGMC project for the week.

:D So, how does that relate to you? I don't know but all I can say is that the Birdie Board project will continue to challenge me and keep me interested in giving you Dynasty players another approach to your dynasty playing!

 With the new year and all there have been more Dynasty players having more time to put more games into their arsenal! Which means that this is another apology for not updating when another dynasty has been submitted. That will come too!

here's mine, I didn't know how I was supposed to send it to you so I just did what Laxation did. Anyway, that's it for my dynasty for a while. Not sure if I'm still keeping it. Still have school to tend to plus I'm kinda bored of this one. Got a new one in mind but I'm gonna hold until I get enough free time to do it

here's mine

Thanks Null17, I got yours evaluated, I just need to post on your thread. Since a lot of GM's had this recent time for holidays, A LOT of games were played and that meant A LOT of submissions! So much so, that I've been having a hard time keeping up! But I guess that's a mixed blessing. I'll get to yours in due time...like I said, I'M BACK! Last year I would have strayed away when things got bogged down...but NO MORE. I'm attacking things head on! :D

 Birdie Board updated! I just realized that it's been about a month since I updated the Birdie board...so check it out in the first post!

:?: Also, is there anyone out there that has the skills to create a 2006 Birdie Board banner? ...just having plain text isn't cutting it...

 liveGMC.com/Birdie Update!

 pauleninas submitted his pstats! Check out his results at:

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/sutra483080.php#483080

 Bosh4 submitted his pstats! Check out his results at:

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic32224-200.php

:!: Birdie Board is 24 submissions strong!

:!: Updated 3 categories on the leaderboard: Please review initial post above.

 Although we're only 24 submissions, it seems like the last 2 weeks I've been inundated with submissions that I've kind of been lost in a whirlwind. So if I haven't done your 'shout out' yet and it's been more than 3 days since you submitted it, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! There was one time that Mafia sent me his stats last year and it took me fricken three weeks to do his shout-out. AND YES, I felt like crap for keeping him hanging. So, I'm trying to be better this year.

(I might be tech-speaking in this next paragraph so please forgive me if I do.)
After doing Bosh4's shout out, I realize how much I need to automate EVEN MORE some of the internal processes that eventually lead to the infamous Birdie Board shout-out. I know the shout-out doesn't look like much but there's a lot that goes on...and it can take me between 20-40 minutes from the time I process the stats, until the time it's finally on your or this thread.

Basically, what this means is that you might not see a lot of "NEW FEATURES" from the LiveGMC.com side until I serve the NLSC side more efficiently. I have about 4-5 projects to tackle that will definitely improve my response time back to you guys...at any which rate, thank goodness that the computational part of the Birdie Board was done and done way back two seasons or ago or I would have gone crazy!

And Null17: Yes, I'll get your Avatar updated...just give me a little bit more time

Ou Contrare, funk99...alas we shall read the fine print:
Note: Leaders qualify by at least playing 85% of team's total games played and if they do not surpass real NBA's record for that category.

Hence your Dynasty's Wade's steals per game is surpassing the record that Alvin Robertson set back in the 80's...THUS...

...he does not qualify in the land of the Birdies!

But good point and good observation...I was hoping somebody down the pike would notice one of their players missing from the leaderboard!

Anybody recognize the rockin' mini-banners in the initial post?!?! Those were created by none other than our fellow Dynasty player, FAsz. FAsz, those are way better than I would have ever imagined and I am totally indebted to you! Please let me know how else I can give you credits for your efforts!

 Coding Update: Perhaps I'm just blogging this for my own satisfactions. Today, I wrote the code to make the Shout Out process twenty seconds faster. Wow, an hours worth of coding for that much more efficiency... (computing...computing) That would mean that I'd need 180 submissions for the time-spent-computing to time-saved is one to one.

...well, I can always hope!
