Playmakers your first set was pretty good I had to lower the fouls but they played pretty good. I used your lates set lastnight and man what a difference in game flow. I really loved how the game felt so balanced overall. My only problem is at 50 speed it's tough to play 12 minutes like I want. But those are some very good sliders as a second set you produced.

Thanks a lot man.

brad_feet, you have done it again. You have somehow made this game playable. Nice job man :D

Just so everyone knows, I am recomending anyone currently using an IJBL slider set, any version, to switch to Brad_feets current sliders. I will only release a version 3 of my sliders if completely necessary, or I work a miracle.

Hi I try these sliders and play 12 min superstar me too.
Decrease speed game at 27...I also decrease the long range shooting for both cpu and user to 36 and increase double-team to 60 fo user and 70 for cpu

Thu Nov 10, 2005 1:06 pm

With the sliders I am creating I managed to keep my opponent's FG% down in the low .400 range which I was pretty happy with. However I ended up giving up 36 offensive rebounds so my opponent (the Wizards) still posted 120 on me... Compared to my 108...

Meh just felt like posting that... My first day off beings tomorrow so I should do a lot more tweaking and then post the first version of my sliders soon.

edit:

The way I figure it is that if Brenden Haywood didn't get 7 offensive rebounds and Jamison didn't post a total of 21 rebounds against me (I forget how many of them were offensive) the score would have been bearable...

On my opinion Shiva sliders are the realistic ones.I've tryied all the sliders. And i mean all!You have to like game speed because it brings morea realistic shots. You are too fast with other sliders.I play shivas sliders 12 quarter.Good work shiva.
Peace

well that's great... it's good that shiva's sliders are realistic for you..... i mean after trying all the sliders posted here..... i guess you're talking to me when you talked about the game speed too fast... the reason i set it at 55 is not because it brings realistic shots, it's because i find the cpu too slow if it's set lower than 45....... anyway, slider settings really depends on a person's preference and skill whether be it realistic or not..... and as long as you're enjoying........ and i think this topic is not stickied for the people to compete on who has the most realistic sliders but to share ideas by posting in here so that we will all enjoy the game that we purchased...... peace......

I tried to enjoy the game speed below 50 for so long but players just don't move or flow right at lower speeds. I personally feel that even t 50 it still moves kinda slow.

You could have just reduced POOR RELEASE SHOT % and it would have helped also. That slider is so sensitive this year it can do wonders for FG% without messing with ranges.

As for game speed I guess 25/50/75 depending on the individual preference can be good. I prefer higher speed after playing this game a month now.

exactly......

Fri Nov 11, 2005 3:49 am

Yeah brad pretty much laid it out, the most realistic results might be from slower game speed, but I presonally find the gameplay to be painfull. I'll take slightly poorer stats but great gameplay over the alternative every time.

by the way, nice to see you on the dynasty boards......

Yeah I don't usually go there, but there are some really fun dynastys, and the level of detail is amazing. Yours is up there with the very best, I am impressed.

Back to your sliders, everything seems good up to this point, especially the game play. The only one thing that screws it up is the 'superstars'. They really mess with the stats, especially power scorers (Amare in my franchise is an absolute machine), and 3 point shooters (general lack of 3 scoring, except occasionaly from these punks). But theres basically nothing you can do about these, because if you change the sliders, it affects other areas which were already perfect. And it balances itself out in the end.

I'll give more detailed feedback if I pick up on any problems, but right now they work well. :)

Fri Nov 11, 2005 8:17 am

hmmm i would rather have more real stats tho.. against comp
but when im playing with my friends, ill just make speed faster

Fri Nov 11, 2005 9:15 am

I just played a F*cking game vs Dallas. I was Philly. They shot 62 points from the game. Novitzki try to shot ONLY 8 ball. !!! WTF !!!
And 31 shot from the paint is UNREALISTIC. They shot only 14 points from midrange. WTF !!!
Unreal !!!

They dont pass the ball around very often.

[b]I WROTE ABOUT 5 TIMES:CAN SOMEBODY POST A SCREENSHOT OF THE SHOT DISPLAY ?????????????????

Do you understand ??? You play a match, and after the game, you make a screenshot of the shot display. (Mainly of the opponent team shots.)

CAN SOMEBODY post some shot display ???

Ex: playmaker. I think you play realistic games. POST SOME Screen.

Or write down, how many shots are from the paint. usually !!!

Sorry for my english, and sorry if I' m nervous (Because I' am NERVOUS). WHY ? 'Cause I hate, if the CPU team shot "only" from the paint! And I can do nothing !!! I know, that DEFENSE is a major thing. I think, my defense is not too bad. But when the players of the other team shots only from the paint. WHAAAAAAAAAAA

POST SHOT DISPLAY SCREENS. PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!
And I'll see, how many shot is from midrange, etc, etc.

Thanx

Peace

Fri Nov 11, 2005 9:25 am

I can't post shot display screens, because I am a PS2 man. But there is something very important about playing defense:

You have to stop the PG penetrating, he will try and drive almost all the time. If you prevent the first drive attempt, the computer wll then tend to pass it about a bit, and set up some offense. Also, try using some of the Playbook selections. The thread where you can find them is stickied in this forum. This sets the game up as more of a sim, and the constant driving is replaced with some offesnive sets. I am using brad feets sliders, I was previously using my own (IJBL version 2.0), and I was forcing the opposition to take midrange and long Js.

Hope that helps a little.

Fri Nov 11, 2005 4:45 pm

I have been using brad feet's 12 minute superstar sliders. however, i just don't how you can have some of these set.

game speed - i am at 11 minute QTRs, game speed 30 and can still score 110 points with only a .440 shooting %. at 55 the game is probably better flowing but what are your scores.

long range shooting - i think you based these on kobe. normal players (guys with 70-80) 3 point ability should be able to make one in three. plus the cpu is hounding you because of the high defensive. i had van excel missing wide open shots left and right.

cpu steal/human steal - i had to lower one and higher the human. the cpu can make pinpoint passes in the lane and i get mine picked off with a 90 rated passer.

I think my main gripe now is the passing. maybe it is my slower game speed but my passes are those stupid ones that are lobbed. even i am cherry picking and get the defensive board the guy will pass high and there is no flow. once in a while i get the nice fast break. but if iam passing around trying to get an oepn three the pass will be so slow/weak that the defender will be able to get out the the shooter.

this games needs two new sliders fo rnext year. 1. interior defense. 2. outside defense.

here you go.... these are pre-season(exhibition) games from my dynasty.... game speed set at 55, superstar, 11min quarters.

Thanx man !

I use playbook selection. (Playmakers playbooks settings)

And that's what Made me nervous yesterday ! I set the offensive strategies of the opponent team, but they shot 60 points from the paint.

Yeah, you're right: It must be stop the PG's first try(to goes for an easy layup).
But another thing :there are many situations, when PF, or SF (or SG)stands in the paint, he get the ball, and shot the 2 pointer from the paint. They don't try to make an open midrange shot. (make a pick and roll, run for the open space) Do you understand me ?
So it's not a problem, when they shot from the paint, but when they shotONLY from the paint.  Not too realistic. (Today: Detroit scored only24 from the paint, and finally, they'd 11 points. It' means, they shot 12 times from the paint.
The average in the NBA: about 15-25 shot from the paint.
Peace

P.S: Playmaker: I think the offensive sets of the Dallas is not correct. Because I played 2 games againts Dallas, and top scorer Dirk Novitzki had only 8 attempt/game. He didn't get the ball very often !!!
I don't know, what's the problem, but it should be set another off. strategy.

Peace & keep up the GOOD WORK !!!

Fri Nov 11, 2005 8:21 pm

^^^^ when they pass it in the paint and the player is about to shoot, press the foul button....... of course fouls will be called..... but sometimes it will not be called and it will make your opponents alter their shots and missing them.... that's one way of stoping them from scoring in the paint............ but i dont do that often because 70% fouls will be called.... and my players will get in foul trouble..... but that's what fouls are there for, to use it........

another way of preventing them from scoring in the paint is by double-teaming them and forcing them to pass it outside..... on defense, first look at your opponents players in the court..... switch to your player that is guarding a player who's not an offensive threat or maybe to the player away from the play.... and then use that player to double team the low-post player...... doing that, he's going to give-up the ball and therefore not allowing them to score in the paint....... it's all about playing defense really....... hope that helps.......

to ijbl, thanks for the feedback...... i think your problem is your offensive player in amare scoring too much.... well, we can't do anything about that......

Sat Nov 12, 2005 3:34 am

Thank you.

I played this way also (switch one of my player, who isn't near the play. Sometimes it works.

But: i think also, that DEFENSE IS THE MAIN THING !!!

Peace & Go Philly

heh, your slider isnt bad, but i found out too little fouls in your game... thats y i rose reach in foul and collision in air frequency.. nba averages 20 fouls a game at least

It should be 20+ in total team fouls and 25-30+ FT's attempted for each team on any given night.

Those are the NBa league averages but most guy's don't like to see the CPU shoot NBA average FT's per game. I love it because it makes you play smart defense instead of trying to steal and block everything.
