dukeysam, thanks so much! I got Bama and Zona through email and converted them. The overall rating calculated by the game itself came out way too high so I'll still have to tweak them though.
Scottybasketball, yes that it still the case. I don't mind doing that though.
King_Lebron, no word yet.

I said this over a month ago, that the ratings out the box were way off. Most definitely will take some tweaking to get them to work

Damn! Still? Yeah it's not that hard to do; but just extra time and work. :?

Hey, I am willing to do the Florida ratings if you like. It will be difficult without some kind of a guideline (i.e. what kind of ratings are too high/low) but it's better than nothing, right? If I send you a players.dbf file with the Florida players tacked on at the end, will that be helpful? Or would it be better to send it as an Excel file?

EDIT: I have begun making a .bat file that will automatically insert the players and their ratings into the dbf file, hopefully it works :)

Do you have College Hoops 2k7?, becuase that is what were using, and it would be weird to have some ratings just off of knowledge and some from another video game.

Fri Feb 09, 2007 6:38 am

Um, no, I don't, and you make a very good point. But I thought since cklitsie was having to tweak the CH2K7 ratings anyway, it wouldn't create that much of a problem.

EDIT: But if you don't want the ratings I can still provide the biographical information? Height, weight, date of birth, position etc. I've done most of that already.

Yeah, that's true. We will try to organize some sort of ratio with ratings or something to make them easier to convert.

Ive been following this thread for a long time and can't wait... I'll do anything possible to get thing out asap... I can do the Memphis ratings for sure.. also Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin. The Memphis ratings would be VERY accurate.

Fri Feb 09, 2007 1:20 pm

hey guys, sorry about this, but i have not had so much time to work on this...
will definitely get you some ratings this weekend though!

Fri Feb 09, 2007 1:50 pm

Alright thanks. I was wondering what happened to you.

Mon Feb 12, 2007 4:40 am

Any updates or progress report? Screens or anything? I know they are teasers but I need a quick fix right about now. Also just a suggestion when making the stadiums can you add more people to the crowd and move the crowd closer to the court? It would give it much more of a college atmosphere  Ratings coming along ok? Man I cant wait for this patch...thanks again guys (Y)

I hope one of the many NCAA projects started in the last 3-4 years gets finished!Good luck!

Mon Feb 12, 2007 7:34 am

Sad news, due to family reasons I can't continue working on this patch and I will stop posting altogether.
Of course I know how much of you have been dying for an NCAA game on pc, so I'll release everything I had so far. I'm dissapointed I didn't get to finish nor play thos mod.

Here it is, maybe someone can work on it a little further or something:

I was hoping hammertime_23 could maybe release all the amazing cyberfaces he's made along with those of other people, I have sent him the ones I still had. I hope dukeysam will continue posting some ratings too, for all those that really want to play this. This might be useful.

I've had fun creating this so I can't say it's been a waste of effort. If anyone wants to use the stuff I'm releasing now for other patches then that's ok. You don't have to put me in the credits, just don't claim it as your own.
Be sure to check the readme, it contains all the people that contributed and who I wanted to thank! Also thanks to everyone showing support for this mod! (Y)

that sucks man.

Mon Feb 12, 2007 9:26 am

I will stop posting altogether.

Are you retiring? Ah damn this sucks even though I don't have NBA Live 06. I actually just started today looking around town for a copy just to be able to play this mod, but I guess I will stop since it won't be completly finished. Atleast Dirtdog1 is supposed to release something soon for those who have NBA Live 2005.

This was fun while it lasted.

P.S.
ck we have the same birthday I think (November 29)

Mon Feb 12, 2007 9:48 am

Ohhhh.... It's been great. I wish you could still work on this. well. It's been nice knowin ya. I'll try to complete this, maybe assemble a new team. :(

Mon Feb 12, 2007 10:37 am

hammer, i just emailed you more bad news...
but now that i see this, i would be happy to help you after i have all of my problems worked out with my computer. count me in

Mon Feb 12, 2007 6:22 pm

cklitsie, best of luck to you. Hope everything works out.

And thanks for the MSU court. :chug:

Tue Feb 13, 2007 1:57 pm

This thing has soo much potential... i installed it or whatever and did the ratings for memphis, tennessee, and part of texas... but it crashes when I try to play a real game. I can only practice and play 1 on 1.

Wed Feb 14, 2007 5:08 am

update... Evidently FedEx Forum doesn't work.. i tried some of the other courts and they work fine. Just played a Memphis vs. Tennesse and it was bad asws. Felt like a totally different game, for some reason the game play seemed different. The opposing team seemed to press a lot more. Anyways, i don't know who's going to work on this but I'm going to do ratings, considering thats all I can do and that I have a very good knowledge of college hoops. Teams I will do: Alabama, Arizona, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, LSU, Marquette, Memphis, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, Wisconsin. Thats almost half. If anyone has ratings for any of these or any others and would like to send them to me (.xls) that would be cool.

Wed Feb 14, 2007 6:17 am

Swweet. dude please just do as many ratigns as possible. If we get the ratings done this thing will be done so easily.

Please don't hype people up by saying stuff like this. There is no way the game play is going to be different from NBA Live 2006, just by adding college courts, jerseys, logos, graphics and college players names.
It is a Mod; but the only things that are being modded is the way the game will look, and appear like a college game The engine and base of the game remains the same.
If you you really want to give it a college feel, and play more like the NCAA, then take your time with those ratings, don't just throw numbers into the .dbf files. Edit all parts of the roster, teams.dbf, AI as well as the players.dbf. Do research on the teams game play style as well as each individual player.

Anyway nice effort you have going here (Y) I will do a couple of teams, if you send me the .dbf's you are working on.

okay.. lets get a few things straight..
1. was not in any way trying to "hype" people up. I didnt think about it but I uninstalled (including saves) the game and reinstalled it... hrm.. all my original slider settings were default when I reinstalled it. Hence, the change in gameplay...I didn't think about that when I posed that. My bad, whatever.
2. I know quite a bit about college basketball and I've been researching the hell out of this when I'm doing it... but it takes a LONG time
3. There are a TON of bugs with this thing that I have no idea how to get around... for example: various courts crash, and when I try to edit the appearance of players (so that Greg Oden isn't a 7'1 bald white guy) with certain players the game freezes up... this happens before and after I edit the .dbf. Also, Wisconsin is all f'd up. On the roster there is no Small Foward position, no Alando Tucker. The team is uneditable for me.
4. Someone else will have to implement the cyberfaces. Hammertime I presume

Scotty, I have Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Memphis, Tennessee, and Texas so far. I will send them to you soon.

Thu Feb 15, 2007 10:00 am

i downloaded and installed what was released so far, but just wanted to make sure i have it all set up right so far. first off, are there any menus or anything updated with this? mine are still all the old NBA ones. secondly, i assume none of the cyberfaces are included? every player is a black guy with a bald white head. if thats how it is supposed to be, thats cool. i realize that there is much left to be done, i just wanted to make sure i wasn't a moron and put stuff in the wrong spot.

i'm pleased so far though. as a Creighton grad, I'm happy to see them in there, and am very pleased with the Qwest center's court. i see lots of potential and hope this mod can still be finished. I'm willing to help out in any way possible, but have never done any kind of modding for NBA live before, so i don't think i could do much to help progress.

Thu Feb 15, 2007 10:35 am

Hey guys,
i was origionally doing the ratings from ch2k7, but then ran into some technical difficulties...
however, within 2 or 3 days i will be able to continue to post ratings!
AJC, are you using ch? or just doing the ratings from stratch? I can do ACC ratings from stratch if you need, and would be glad to help. I would actually rather do them from stratch, I am a huge follower of ACC hoops. LETS NOT LET THIS MOD DIE!!!

I can especialld do Duke and North Carolina

I was not trying to put you in your place or nothing, just some people on these boards may take the concept of modding wrong, and expect more from this mod than it’s capable of. It's all love over here!

I am glad to hear this! Dirtdog1 has been working on the Live 2005 roster for nearly two years now  ; so I guess it does.

From scratch is what I would prefer! As Ck stated the CH2k7 ratings were too high, and had to be edited anyway, so why not just do them from scratch?
I am an Operation sports major contributor, and the way we would finish rosters in a quick manner was to pass the roster around from person to person. Each person would take there turn doing a couple of teams; and then pass it on.
Before we start though, we will need some ratings guidelines to go by?
Also ajcanale has encountered some problems with the current roster; I think these should be addressed before continuing.
