my view is that speed should be around 20 under superstar 12min, otherwise the score will be too high.

I edited this just a bit. An asteric (*) was placed besides the latest slider changes. 11-09-05

These will be sliders mostly touched upon from what EA had listed at it's DEFAULT SIM settings when we first purchased the game. I lowered in my opinion only the sliders that enhanced an arcade type feel right out the box. There are certain sliders that I felt didn't need lowered to much because I still wanted to keep that fun factor involved in the game. Free-Style control use by the CPU is the major slider. I my opinion the human player abuses that aspect more than the CPU so I decided to go back up close to DEFAULT for the CPU because when set low it took away from certain players like Nash, LBJ, Kobe and Shaq's unique skill's.

I also went back to DEFAULT GAMESPEED because the more I observed after a month since it's release is that EA actually have solid gameplay speed at DEFAULT. This game is really not as face a pace as it was in years past. Compared to other games it might seem fast but Live captures actual NBA speed better this year in my opinion. In fact I could even argue that at DEFAULT it's still rather slow if you actually watch or attend an NBA game. I think initially I was lowering Gamespeed to keep scores down but there are certain sliders you can lower to assist with this aspect.

I would also highly suggest using Playbooks aswell because it brings out better realism in the game when teams focus on there top players and move the ball.

Free Throw Difficulty: 100 or 75 (CPU misses more FT's at 100)

Playmakers, i like the gameplay, much less arcade here (Y)

've made some adjustements, like raise up to 35 the User Freestyle Effectiveness (my guards often were not able to keep the ball in their hand on the dribble :| )

Also, i play 9 minutes, 10 gives me too high scores.

Anyway great set of sliders! :D

I went back to basics because I think EA included SIM sliders for a reason but we just have to find out which of their DEFAULT SIM settings need to be lowered.

So, I just tweaked only certain sliders that impacted the arcade feel the most and went lower. Their not perfect but they played pretty good for about 5 games now for me. I use the Playbooks aswell and that helps the CPU run more structured sets and take good shots and move the ball around on many occasions.

Have you tested the playbooks with new Andrew's rosters? Are they compatible? :bowdown:

Anch'io gioco dal 95 ma non sono un fenomeno, per cui gioco più che altro a livello allstar. Gli sliders di Playmakers mi piacciono per il gameplay, meno arcade, ma ho fatto qualche aggiustamento per adeguarli ai miei personali gusti. Provali come base. Per i 12 minuti, il problema è che per ottenere punteggi decenti devi mettere una bassa velocità, troppo bassa per me. Comunque proverò ancora (y)

Short translation:
I play Nba Live since 1995, but i'm not a god :lol:
so i play on allstar level. Playmakers' sliders are good for the gameplay (less arcade), with few adjustements to suite my own tastes.
To play 12 minutes having real scores we have to slow down the game speed, often too slow for me :cry:
but this is IMHO

how do u guys play defence?
when i set steal and reach in foul low, i just keep stealing, but still fouled..
when i set these high, i dont use steal a lot or i will get into foul trouble
so what do u guys do? :D

If you have an analog controller try to stay in front of your opponent and push down the right analog stick. I don't try to steal the ball a lot also because it's a risk, the cpu'll have the way open to the ring! :cry:

thanks dude..... as a reward, here it is, hope you like it....... i basically increased the fatigue effect to counter the fast game speed because i really dont want the cpu to play slow-mo..... decreased the steals, increased the blocks and increased the cpu's on-ball physical defense from my previous sliders posted on page 1..... and of course, it's all on the cpu's advantage..... you can win if you play hard defense all the way.....

EDIT: And by the way, this really works well with Playmakers Play-Set w/c can be found on the other stickied post........ You can just download it and and place the teams.dbf on any saved rosters.......

1. for a newbie, you might not like it.
2. for a veteran in nbalive, you might like it, you might not...... but hey i'm just helping.... :lol:

I think that if you use this sliders in 12 minutes quarter, you have to down the speed to 30-35. Its my opinion :D

In game you push START then go to settings > defensive matchups > and then change the players defensive pressure ratings...

I don't really use it that much but i'll try changing the defensive pressure ratings to see what effect it has on the scores...

if you use it for 12min and you dont want to change the game speed like me..... increase the cpu's double-team effectiveness to 60 or maybe 65, then decrease the long range shooting to 36 or maybe lower.... of course it will lower your score, but you have to play defense to lower the cpu's score, you have to double them too....... or you could just change the game speed to 45....

Ok, thanks, I known this, but I think that you can change this for all time, not only in game. :D

I´m very frustrating with 06, my sliders are very realistic, but I couldn´t win more games because the defence in the paint is imposible. Always basquet, basquet + foul. They are unstopable in the paint.

I read lot of coments and I saw that many people only defense with de PG over the rival PG, and they only see how work his mates. Yes, it´s works, the mates defense are very very better than my defense, but is very very borred. Now, I win a lot of games, but the game is only offense because defend the PG is very easy.

I think that the great bug in this game is the defense, the game have a lot of good things, but the defense its horrible...I´m thinking to re-play 2005.... its very frustrating.... :cry:

I agree... But I have a 5 day weekend coming up soon, well it's probably going to end up being a 2-3 day weekend as i'm visiting colleges, but i'm planning on spending a lot of time tweaking my current sliders this week so i'll post the results here ASAP.

I've only tested my play book with my own personal sliders, however they should still work fine with any other sliders you elect to use.

Oh I see. I'm not sure about his rosters but I updated Playbooks based upon some recent player moves. I posted them in the Playboomk thread..
