My graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8x with total memory 128MB. Do you think this is good enough? If you need more details, let me know. Thanks.

Silas, I'm not sure if you saw my post, so I'll give you my specs again. My graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8x with total memory 128MB. Can you tell if it's good enough for lighting? Or do you need some more info?

well hopefully i can get a new graphics card. any specific type u would recommend thats available here in canada?
Sat Jul 08, 2006 8:09 am
Well I'm not sure if your card can support it T-wave... Only way to check is in game... Might want to find out if someone else has that card and if it supports it. I'd think it probably wouldnt, maybe it would, but I'm honestly not sure.
and Jerry, I'd recommend an Nvidia geforce 6600 GT or above, or an ATI Radeon X800 or above. You also need to know if your card is AGP or PCI, or PCI-E. I'd bet its AGP though. Only way I know to check is by opening up your computer case or looking through your detailed computer specs that came with your PC.

Why would they need Jowe's if they can use the new ball by pdub.
Sat Jul 08, 2006 9:46 am
well its an alternative ball...and
also the 3d crowd!
and thanks silas for ur recommendations...do u kno how much they would cost?
Sat Jul 08, 2006 9:59 am
anywhere from 100-130 for a 6600, in AGP.
X800's are more expensive, but they are also more powerful.
they range in the low 200's to mid 100's.

Newegg is a great place to get video cards and stuff like that.

Thanks Silas, for the info. Before, I couldn't get lighting to work, then a while back, I upgraded the drivers and went into my details settings, and I could turn lighting on. The problem is, I don't see the effects in game, like the sweat on the players from the sweat patch. Dissapointing, but I've learned to live with it. Thanks.

Good thread, maybe you can explain what Anitropic (sp?), Bilinear and Trilinear means? Also what V-Sync is??
Sat Jul 08, 2006 10:42 pm
For Bilinear, Trilinear, and Antiropic the answer is here

Andreas Dahl wrote:It has to do with how well the textures get drawn in the game, when you view them from far away and from a steep angle..
And as SilasDC said: Anisotropic filtering is the best (slowest), after that comes Trilinear, and last comes Bilinear filtering (fastest).
If you have a very good computer, run the game with anisotropic, but if have a 'not-so-good' computer, use trilinear or even bilinear.

is that for the us? because here in canada it would prob be 80 bucks...and i would rather use the money to get 07 then to buy a graphics card..besides...right now i cant spend any money i earn...crap
i think my dad has a radeon gfx card im gonna see if i can use it
Sun Jul 09, 2006 3:56 am
Lol your dad's a gamer?
Sun Jul 09, 2006 4:25 am
You're gaming experience is going to progessively worse until you get a new video card, I'm sorry to say. A new card is more important than live 07. Live 07 will suck without it.
